I really related to Iris. But I'm not sure that screwball comedy is gonna turn my life around, as I don't look like Kate.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I'm currently watching Dracula 3000 starring Casper Van Dien and CoolioI'll take crap for this but where I found Daredevil lacking, I did like the directors cut much better (in a it's a fluffy superhero movie type of way) One thing I really enjoyed in the director's cut was the added subplot Coolio being defended by Foggy Nelson. Personally I think it added depth to Favereau's character. Coolio was pretty funny.
I got dragged to the rewatch of Daredevil kicking and screaming and I ended up liking it too. It's a pretty decent superhero movie. Too bad the theatrical release cut out the plot.
oh! OH! Bleach! I need bleach!
Just watched Mysterious Skin and, oh dear lord, I need bleach. Or unicorns and puppies.
oh yes, Laga! That's what I need! Thank you!!!1!
I skipped back to the home page and the ded kitteh video is delightful.
(although actual roadkill after that movie would be delightful)
While I agree that Mysterious Skin was intense and uncomfortable to watch, I thought it was an excellent film.
Too bad the theatrical release cut out the plot.
I know, right?
I mean, it still wasn't a great movie (large portions of it continued to, in fact, suck, and yes Jennifer Garner I am looking at your entire subplot), but at least it made sense.
Gloomcookie, I thought it was too titilating, a little too loving and lingering in it's depictions. Which, sure, gets the point across of how wrong and horrifying it all was, and yet... ::at a loss for words::
And, what the hell was with the UFO?
What you describe is what set this film apart from other movies about child abuse. Instead of the typical "molestation is bad, m'kay?," it told the ugly, twisted, gut-wrenching truth.
If I recall correctly, the UFO came when the boy who just couldn't face it finally did. It felt like a reality he would create to escape what really happened.
I thought MS was the best movie of 2004.
