Dawn: I think a date should be in a real fancy restaurant, then champagne at a night club with a floor show, then ballroom dancing. Joyce: Unfortunately, we're not dating in a movie from the thirties.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Keanu also delivers in A Scanner Darkly. And Something's Gotta Give, but that one pushes my "OMGNEOISINLOVEWITHANNIEHALL" button too hard for me to be really objective about it. (Yes, I apparently have that button. Who knew?)

Oh, and Devil's Advocate! Which has OverlySerious!Keanu and special bonus Shouty!Al Pacino in it. (And ScaredWife!Charlize Theron, but that's more a bug than a feature.)

My absolute favorite online comment I saw about this movie is that it was actually a science fiction film. How else to explain a woman choosing Nicholson over Reeves.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

YES. Especially the respective actors in their respective characters! Nummy doctor or crusty sleazy producer? Hmmmm....

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Simon Cowell has a girlfriend, so anything is possible.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Man, you chatted with Denzel???

Yeah! It was weird though, because when visitor's came into the garden, it was part of my job to say hulloo and chitchat with them if they were so inclined, and then here comes the guy that the entire staff has been hounding in between scenes for the past several days, so I wanted to give him space and let him just enjoy the grounds sans groupies.

But then I felt rude for ignoring him, so I spent about five minutes looking up, looking down *twitchtwitch* until he finally came over and asked flower questions.

Always Anti-fascist!

Dang, my mom is going to be thrilled about that. I think she crushes on him...if he gardens, too, that's gonna be about It, as far as she's concerned.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Denzel Washington can chat up my flowers any time.

Wow, that came out porny.

X-Files movie confirmed
