They should film that story and show it every Christmas.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

So much chafing!

Other things I forgot: Kingsley was FAB. And those kitten plates? Hysterical.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

About the Blood Quill : in the book, Lee Jordan is also subjected to it (Harry recommends using murtlap to heal the bleeding), so making more victims in the film is not that far of a stretch.

I'm totally chastened Kathy. You are completely right. I guess I was thrown off by the Don't hurt the TWINS!! knee jerk. Good point by you.

Yes, Aileen, ita on both points. The one scene with the kitten walking back out of the plate through the catflap made me think forcibly of the "Talk to the butt" scene in the Stuart Little film. Same kind of cat I think, too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yes, Aileen, ita on both points.

Capitalisation is our friend...

You know, I thought about that as soon as I hit post.

No relation between ITA and ita!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

No relation between ITA and ita!

Except when you can say, "ITA, ita!"

For example:

Capitalisation is our friend...

ITA, ita!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Random Ratatouille adorability: Yesterday Pixar gave a special screening just for the children's ward at the hospital. It aired on closed-circuit TV in all the kids' rooms, while animators, screenwriters and general purpose Pixar storytellers wandered the halls, poking their heads into every room to chat the little noodles up and see who had questions.

They also passed out toys; late in the afternoon I looked out my office door and saw a wee small girl, who looked not unlike Monsters, Inc's Boo, trundling past with her mom and her IV cart beside her and a brand new Ratatouille rat, almost as big as she was, cradled in her arms.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

general purpose Pixar storytellers

I can't be the only one who saw this phrase and said, "hey, dream job!"

Also? ADORABLE.

Now tagless for your comfort.

OOF. JZ's story has caused my allergies to act up.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm watching Harry Potter: The Hidden Secrets on A&E and I can't believe I haven't seen this movie yet!
