Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I had to image-google Karl Urban to remember who that is.

Funny, but in the first page of image results, there's one from a certain wetmen.provocateuse.com site.... [link]

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I wonder whose site that is...? :-)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Karl Urban looks good wet. I can definitely see him as McCoy, more than I see Kirk in that other guy. I wonder if they'll throw in, "Dammit Jim! I'm a med student not a viking!"

edited for wrongthreadedness

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Except that Karl Urban is so a viking.

Or maybe that's just in my head.

They could, you know, travel to a planet that's ruled by Vikings. Then Karl Urban (who is a Viking doctor) fills out a Starfleet application....

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

The phrase "Viking doctor" makes me think of the classic-era SNL skit with Eric Idle as the medieval barber/surgeon--what was his name?

Kirk's been announced?

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

Eh no real thoughts on Kirk's casting... he's a total unknown for me. And something tells me his LL flick won't end up on my Netflix queue

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think he's cute, so I hope he continues the tradition of Kirk getting half his shirt ripped off in a fight.

Photos of all the cast of the new Trek. [link]

Has actor photos next to shot of the characters in TOS. Plus a (poor) photoshop of the new actors faces into a group shot from TOS.
