I adore
The Professional
and
Nikita,
and was pleasantly surprised by and caught up in
Banlieue 13.
I will love him forever for the first two, even if I don't love all his later work. And then...dude the reason I saw
War
was because of the Statham love generated by
The Transporter.
Which, I guess, makes me mad. Pfft.
I share the Staitham love and was so looking forward to War. Pfft, indeed.
No love for León / The Professional ?
I haven't seen it. I keep meaning to. Really.
ita, I think you've summoned Peter Greenaway:

Also he has a new movie about Rembrandt starring Martin Freeman as Rembrandt.
Wow. That say it 3x in a mirror thing works!
In looking up info on Jean-Pierre Jeunet in IMDB, I've learned that he declined an offer to direct the last Harry Potter (OotP), which I would have loved to have seen, and he's in pre-production on
Life of Pi,
which worries me just a tad.
Also he has a new movie about Rembrandt starring Martin Freeman as Rembrandt.
whoa. okay.
I loved Greenaway when I was a film student (of course) but I haven't rewatched anything in years.
The Rock in Witch Mountain.
I noticed he's in the de-rigeur "You stuck the big man with the cute kid???" movie coming out soon, as well as having a role in the new
Get Smart
opposite Steve Carell. Only one of those projects looks like it has any promise.
I don't know that Vin Diesel and Hulk Hogan are the best models to pattern one's movie career after.
Oh wow, I so wanna see Eastern Promises RIGHT NOW (but of course since it's David Cronenberg, I'll have to cover my eyes for 50% of the movie).
And hey! the Guvanator did Kindergarten Cop. And Twins. And I actually enjoyed The Pacifier for all it's cute dumb for-the-kidsness. *hugs Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel* *but not Arnie or Terry*
