Mal: Zoe, why do I have a wife? Jayne: You got a wife? All I got is that dumbass stick sounds like its raining. How come you got a wife?

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

War was atrocious. I have a lot of apologising to do--but it was Jason Statham and Jet Li! I wasn't asking for much. I got way less.

Awww.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Aw, I'm sorry about War. Bob's bro is trying to finance a movie with the people that made it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

With 300 I was reeling from the testosterone funk after the movie was over.

Maybe this will help make that feeling go away, Frank?

I saw Death at a Funeral and Eating Out 2 yesterday. The former lived up to my expectations (Alan Tudyk had me cracking up with his every facial expression) and the latter vastly exceeded them (which were, of course, much lower than those for the former movie thanks to the original being crap whose only redeeming features were Jim Verraros' snark and Ryan Carnes' penis).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Saw the Simpsons movie today -- woo hoo!

SO much fun. Yay.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

Tony Leung OMFG. How is he so hot? And so sad? His sadness is integral to his hotness. I'm trying to remember any film of his in which he wasn't heartbroken in some way, and coming up blank.

The Eagle Shooting Heroes. (Actually, this has both Big Tony and Little Tony Leung.) Rent it, go out drinking with friends, then invite them to see it with you. It's quite funny if you're in the right frame of mind, and has a rumored WKW connection . It was very popular, when our local rep theatre was still a rep theatre.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I hasten to add that no eagles get shot in Eagle Shooting Heroes. It seems to be one of those phrases that the translators just gave up on.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I would have expected heroes to be shot by an eagle.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

So wait, it's not about golf?

No, but strangely enough, it was the original title of The Legend of Bagger Vance.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Ahahaha!
