MwB was not only too much of a shock to see my Benton Frasier (and Leslie Nielson) talking like that, but I think the movie was too crass for my tastes period. Everytime he swore it sounded like he was saying "See?! I'm NOT a f***ing sweet Mountie who helps old ladies cross the f***ing street. F***ing got it? F***ing right."
(fuzzy memory may lead to hyperboles)
Slings & Arrows and Rome are both eyeing me with their teasing "very long wait". Might break down and check out Blockbuster.
Slings and Arrows is worth buying because (a) relatively cheap; and (b) rewards multiple instances of rewatching.
I'm pretty sure I've seen Season 1 at least 8 or 9 times now.
S3 really did have a great, dark, tart, smart, funny, heartbreaking arc.
Well, Geoffrey's very not Ben, as well, although less heavy with the swearing, I believe. I'd agree with the notion that he's more himself and less Not!Frasier
Another movie I would recommend with both Paul Gross and Callum Keith Rennie (and Sandra Oh, and other Canadians) is Wilby Wonderful.
Oh, yes, that one's lovely. I might not have watched it if not for the cast, but I think I'd have liked it if I had (which is, what, triple subjunctive?)
You'd have liked it even if you hadn't liked it.
It actually amuses me that PG was yet again talking to dead people. I found Geoffrey in the first two seasons to be a great role all on it's own, without feeling like it was an anti-Frasier statement (and I'm not saying that his role in Men with Brooms was, just that's what it felt like when watching it).
Will definitely check out Wilby Wonderful. I so want to see Snow Cake, but I don't see it coming my way anytime soon.
I also wanted to ask, after having been left feeling Nothing, Nothing at all, after seeing PotC2, whether I should check out the third installment, because my completist urge isn't there, but if it is actually a fun frolic (unlike 2), I'd like to know.

Snow Cake was really good, and it's out on DVD now.
Will definitely check out Wilby Wonderful.
My sister edited her HS yearbook with Danny McIvor, the guy who wrote and directed this. (He's done a lot of stuff with CKR, McKellar and Molly Parker. They're some kind of Canadian film mafia, all appearing in each other's stuff.)
Huh. I never did see PotC3. I just ... forgot about it. How sad.
forgot about it like Star Wars 3, but without the urge to pirate it and watch it MST3-style when I did remember it. Which I never did cuz I just wasn't that interested in even watching it drunk.
