Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Who do you think is going to be booted first?

Does Jessica's voice make you reach for the mute button?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Sometimes having a really common name can make one blink.

ION, I am firmly in the "Camille, we hardly knew ye!" camp re: Top Chef. But it sounds like her dish was really awful, so I suppose it's for the best. (Who makes pineapple upside down cake for an haute cuisine tasting menu? And then decides to make it with a frelling CORN MUFFIN?? I mean, seriously.)

DH is Tivoing both Singing Bee and So You Think You Know The Lyrics, or whatever the Fox version is because he needs to watch them for work. I'm embarrassed even having them on the to-do list, but that hasn't stopped me from watching with him.

ALSO, has anyone else seen the Feedback comic that was finally put out for Who Wants To Be A Superhero? D's been keeping me too busy to read more than the first few pages, but oh my GOD it's so bad. It's so bad it's almost good, but mostly it's just bad. Rumor is that it was written by Stan Lee himself, and if that's true all I can say is Stan, stop writing. Stick to reminding people you invented Spider-Man and whoring yourself out for cameos in comic book movies. (Needless to say, I highly recommend seeking this comic book out. It's that bad.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I totally would have watched Singing Bee if I hadn't already had two shows on at that time!

On Big Brother, I wish it would be Jen (? the cryer) out, but because stupid what's her name didn't use the Veto, I guess it will be Carol. She's up, right?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I had the very same blink, and I'm not even you!

In totally-wrong-thread news (but I'm catching you while I can), has MC Zaphod seen Ratatouille yet? Because we were like, JESS MUST SEE THIS! And then we were like, THREE WEEKS IS OLD ENOUGH FOR THE MOVIES! And that was a whole week ago and it's the first time I've posted with you since.

I agree, with everything, though I would like BB!Jessica (who is not remotely like our Jessica, btw) out too.

You have NO idea how much I want to see it!!! But no, we haven't tested his ability to sleep through a movie yet. I mean, he probably would, since movies are loud and overstimulation tends to = sleep, but neither of us wants to be That Parent if he randomly decided that overstimulation = waking up screaming.

It is, seriously, all that. One of those things that I went into saying, "it can't possibly live up to the hype..." and found out it wasn't hyped enough. And now I feel vaguely like I'm (ahem) taunting, but I've been thinking since the credits rolled that I absolutely had to talk about it with you at some point.

Sorry. Back to your regularly scheduled Reality...

Oh hell yes.

So. Mean.

(And wow, it's been over a month since I've seen a movie. That's even weirder than me having a kid.)

(And following up on what I said in Natter ten minutes ago, I really am logging off and taking a nap now.)

(Really.)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Just watched the Top Chef. Okay, a) why do a dessert course? You know you're not pastry chefs, and probably you're going to get forced to do one at some point, so don't be stupid about it. And b) Pineapple? Are you kidding me? That's just ridiculous.

So, whatever, whoever it was that got eliminated. So sorry. Glad that Dale stuck around and still took responsibility, though. 'Cause it was totally his fault.

And yeah, about the cheese course. I was thinking that exact same thing. I really want to see someone do a successful cheese course. I love cheese, and there's so much you can do with it, but no one ever does.

You gotta love that they had the option to choose their own teams, and Howie & Joey ended up together. Bwah! Trainwreck guaranteed!
