It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I hate to admit it, by I love the Pussycat dolls. they work damn hard, they don' lip synch their shit.

I was surprised they were live. You know, I know Nicole's voice coach, and apparently she's a pretty good singer and a nice girl.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I saw Nicole in a previous Fox show where they were casting a group and she was great on it. She was the best of the singers, bar none.

They have Pussycat Dolls in Vegas - so I think that's where some of their spares are.

I think the correct two people went home given that bottom 6, but at least one of those couples did not belong in the bottom 6.

so, was the show all a total fakeout, or did something happen with her?

Actually, I heard that they did try to put her in the group but that she didn't want it. Wanted to be a solo artiste. I also heard she didn't really gel with the group on account of a)she had stank attitude or b)she really couldn't sing (How that makes her different from any of the other girls, I don't know.) or c) she was wee and didn't fit the look of the other girls who were all bigger than her. Anyway, I don't think she lasted more than a minute with the group.

I just can't get with Nicole and her second stab at solo fame through participation in a manufactured, reality TV girl group. Perhaps not the best way to get people to take you seriously, Buttercup?

Ahhh, SYTYCD is finally back, dancing. I have missed you so, my show!!! I had a few friends over tonight, adn sucked them in and made them watch the finale of Seasons 2 and 3. Now I'm watching last night and tonight's episodes.

Things I love: Good judging. Joshua. Chelsea. Comfort. Will.

Things I hate: That they paired Joshua with Katie. Mary screaming. Rayven and the west coast dance guy trying to hip hop with no soul.

Oddly, I thought Courtney and Gev totally looked the disco part...except they didn't dance it very well somehow. But they both look like they could be dropped into the 70s in New York, somehow...

Now to go watch the results show, and read the rest of the stuff from last night...

OK, results show:

Oh, and I did not like the waltz, just because it was not Anya and Danny...but apparently America was fine with it.

Bottom 3:

Rayven and Jamie: not shocked--I wasn't impressed by their soulless hiphop, and I'm actually excited to see them do solos, so that's cool.

Jamie and Will: I'm really surprised that Gev and Courtney made it! Wow. Huh.

Courtney, aka Uma, and Matt: I liked their number, but didnt' love it, and it felt a little weird. I felt like it needed some changes to make it better--but more to the costumes and choreography than the dancers, maybe. I think they just didn't connect to the audience really.

Solos:

Uma: Eh...I always have a hard time with these contemp solos. But she wobbled in a couple places, so I'm not impressed.

Matt: Again, meh.

Rayven: Ballet, huh? Um...this is..no. Also, I hate your costume, honey.

Jamie: Speaking of hating a costume. Benji did this style better. You look awful in this outfit. And this song was used better in Season 2 by Dmitri. I downloaded it then. God, that shirt! And the look on his face, he looks like such a TOOL.

Jessica: Oh, the literal "pray". still, I think I like this dance better than the other two, oddly. Doesn't mean she's a better dancer, but.

Will: (If he gets kicked off, does that mean Debbie Allen can judge the rest of the season?) He needed to dance a little more knowing he only gets a few seconds, but I want to see him dance more...I don't think the judges will let him go, will they????

.....

and the judges say??

Rayven goes home. Hmm. Eh, don't much have an opinion on that. Would've been interesting, but really, if she's 28, did she have a dance future? Probably not.

(WILL, don't applaud yourself! Not on!)

Jamie goes home. I'm OK with that--he was kinda insufferably icky seeming even in just one week. I liked the idea of a west coast swinger, but he didn't impress me in his solo, and if you can't do that AND you seem so icky? Go home.

Sadly, this leaves Matt with Uma...I hope they can get it together...

[edit:

Ok, so i've been watching SYTYCD and blame it all entirely on Meara!

Hah! I am trying to get everyone I know to watch this show!!

Also, I love that I said several of the same things about the solos (ie, Rayven's costume, and the "Oh no he di'nt!" on the music) as kat did, though I hadn't yet read the thread, when I posted)]

Art Crawl!!!

Project Runway - comes back July 16th at 9/8 Central.

I'm sad - it's going to conflict with MI-5.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

FYI, if anyone would like to hear an interview with Top Chef Stephanie, Nick Digilio at WGN radio will have her on the air tonight after the 9:00 (central time) news here (just click on the "listen now" icon). (He's a bit notorious for getting distracted, but since she'll be in the studio, I don't think he'll get delayed too late.)

MTV is running a marathon of S1 America's Best Dance Crew! Another Sunday lost to dance based reality tv.

Jabbawookeez are a really, really good crew. I don't know how they're going to find anyone better this season.

Ted’s new series, ‘Food Detectives,' to premier July 29th on Food Network
9 p.m. ET/PT Tuesdays

Ted joins the Food Network family to explore the delicious connection between science and food in the new series “Food Detectives.” The half-hour, primetime show mixes a healthy dose of humor with a wealth of fascinating factoids. Aided by willing culinary techs and the brains from Popular Science magazine, the series will conduct experiments to find the truth behind the most interesting food myths and questions. Ted and his team will dig deep to answer such questions as: Does it really take seven years for gum to digest in your stomach? Is the five-second rule true? Can an “apple a day” really keep the doctor away? Viewers can also get in on the fun by submitting their most puzzling food conundrums for potential show experiments.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I had heard Ted had a show coming. I'm a bit surprised that it's going to be a Mr. Wizard type show.
