That's the other thing - it's really not. It's a movie about ONE woman. IN A COMA.
I think they probably were really thinking of All About My Mother or maybe Volver but couldn't remember the right title. Either way it made no sense.

OMGah, the final line in Survivor's scenes from next week will quite possibly be the funniest thing ever on show.
I laughed like a drain. I think there will definitely be a lot of rewatching when that goes down. Although, I totally agree with megan that I am bored by the vast majority of these folks. Survivor lost a lot of steam this season with the early ouster of Yau Man and the sad, sad departure of Jeff's friend Penner.

SO MUCH THIS. During this episode, I thought it might turn out to be the Worst Episode Ever. (One challenge? And we have to spend a half hour with a five-person tribe that's gonna vote out Eric?) At least there was a little drama there. But I guess the only person I'm rooting for at this point is Eliza, because she rocks at challenges, is clearly the smartest person there, and doesn't appear to have her ego all up in it, OZZY.

Exactly, which is a sign they didn't follow the instructions and find inspiration from one of their favorite movies. Really, the only reason team "Christmas Story" got away with what they did was because Markwise is pretty clever, as hobbits often are. (And MovieAgnostic Ryan actually remembered a scene he really did love, so he got there in the end.)
The challenge was about finding resonance in your heart with something you loved. "Top Secret" is a dumb, fun movie, but I totally believed Stephanie when she said it really was one of her favorites, and she made a bunch of associations, none of which involved anyone in a cow suit, thankfully. But they were there.
It really does appear that, the further away they got from actually caring about what they were paying homage to, the worse they did.
Of course, my favorite movies are "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eight Dimension" and "A Clockwork Orange," so I might have been in some trouble with this one.

I KNOW! Half the time I'm really not sure if I'm watching Amanda or Parvati. ALSO speaking of Parvati, these people are supposed to be fans? How idiotic is (the non-speaking fan that is not Alexis) to get with that "alliance" with Parvati? Sweetie, I have a bridge for you.
