"We have trust issues." Mylar

After the horror of these past two weeks, these kids are not even really worthy of her. I have no doubt that Dolly will totally rock it as a mentor, though. If anyone can pull greatness out of these fools, it's her.

Don't let Kristy Lee anywhere near Coat of Many Colors. Don't let Syesha or Ramiele anywhere near I Will Always l Love You. And for god's sake, don't let David frikkin' Cook emo up 9 to 5. I want to see him sing something straight out without tricking it out all to hell and back.

Compassionately intolerant

Dolly on AI? Oh mercy, I may have to go hunt up a tv for that.

Somebody's gotta do Jolene.

And as sweet as Dolly is, she must have a spine of steel. An excellent role model.

Thrive to spite them

I can't wait for Dolly Parton Week! Dolly Rocks!

I'm glad that guy went home tonight. I seriously hated his "mexican can't be fine dining" that shows lack of...well a lack of a lot of things but flexibility is one of them. I didn't get teh whole "oh noes! taco into fine dining" we're talking about a show that gave it's contestants a roll of quarters and vending machines to make fine cuisine.

Plus hated the attitude about what the people were expecting. They saw what was in some of those houses and the people who'd gone to the farmer's market. The attitudes just showed a lack of awareness of things outside themselves.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

yeah, I was like, "so who would be the ideal person to do Jolene?" And I couldn't think of one. So I'm not sure why I'm still watching. But I will damn straight be watching for Dolly.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Top Chef:

I am so pissed at all the stereotyping this show. Hello! I am from the midwest. I have heard of this thing you call qweezeen! I will eat it, yes! You don't have to make me fucking sliders (which they weren't, if they weren't steamed!) you bunch of snobs.

Seriously.

You get ingredients fresh from the farmers market, you get tons of meat and all kinds of craziness, and you serve me hot dogs and velveeta? I don't know, people, in the midwest, this is where all your food grows! You need to learn that middle america is about fresh ingredients straight from the fields.

Was the guy who didn't know what a waldorf salad the same as the guy who didn't know what chicken piccata was? (Speaking of which, I was so cranky at them not knowing about it that I went to a little local pizza joint and ordered it...and it came with tomatoes. I was all, ohnoes!)

And yeah, Mexican can't be upscale? Excuse me?

Also,

YOU DON'T TALK SMACK TO THE BIG BEAR.

Srsly. That's a world of oh hells no! I loved his little reaction shot.

yeah. but, i don't think that they had an issue with what was in the salad, but that the chicken was too moist and it watered down the dressing and made the salad soggy.

Thanks to basketball, I didn't catch the last 10 minutes of ANTM. I'm debating whether or not I care enough to record the Sunday night repeat. Having already learned the name of the person sent home (and not having a clue who she is), I'm leaning towards not.

I can't help it; I bizarrely adore him -- he's a unique little snowflake.

I've been saying that for years. Well, not the snowflake part. But the adoring part. Because...yes.

Yeah, you didn't miss much. She was the redheaded Mormon girl. Very forgettable. The most annoying part was my friends and I predicting exactly what would happen, before we even saw the photos. Obviously they were going to put Claire (who we LOVE!) in the bottom two, to "teach her a lesson". Whatevs.

Good to know on the ANTM front. Thanks!

"Let's make food these locals will enjoy" somehow did not equal "Let's make great tasting, high quality food."

They're in Chicago, right? I mean, the challenge wasn't in fucking Mayberry circa 1962. Also, didn't these people watch previous seasons? Being condescending about the palettes of "average people" or "children" never really goes well.

You know what else never goes well? (Aside from salmon.) Hamburgers. I don't think there's ever been a successful hamburger on TC.

Anyway, all of these people need to figure out how to transport food to be eaten later.

Especially since they JUST had a challenge where they had to do that. People should have learned a lesson from the notBellini.

ETA: It seems that I'm feeling very bitchy about the current seasons of my favorite reality shows.

Oh, and thanks to you people, I watched (and introduced to friends to) Dance Crew (the history episode). I enjoyed it muchly. Yay!
