And I hope the one guy was kidding when he thanked the other guy for giving him the "recipe" for mayonaise.
I...don't think he was. Sadly.
Finally watched the ep, and I'm still baffled by the picatta thing. Maybe his mom was a really terrible cook, and had a potato/tomato/chicken dish she called chicken picatta, I don't know.
Also kind of baffled by the "Oh noes! Souffle!" thing too. They're not that hard. For reals.

me too. VERY basic.

yeah, and what kind of idiot adds potatoes.
I've never made a souffle, but it doesn't seem like the kind of thing you can just conceptualize. Or no? Although I'm pretty sure I would have started with beating egg whites, regardless.
And I'm barely a decent home cook!
I'll admit I had no idea what piccata meant in terms of ingredients. I've never eaten it in my life.
I do, however, know how to make mayonnaise.
ETA: I wonder if the fact that Padma said her pizza was under-salted led Nimma to oversalt her shrimp.
megan,
that occurred to me also.
I have no idea what's in chicken piccata and I don't know how to make a souffle. I am also not a chef and didn't put half my father's restaurant staff out of business at the ripe old age of 11. Dislike that guy immensely. I loved Dale, the Buddakan chef. I also just had dinner last night at Dos Caminos, so to see their executive chef on TV was a trip. I really liked the Kiwi as well and hope he rebounds from the duck l'orange dish.
And Rocco was smokin' hot, and I've not been a fan before.
ION, Survivor made me cry tonight. And AI made me want to cry last night for very different reasons.
In other, other news, the MMaSM kids looked sooo amazing at their goth photo shoot. So good that they deserve their own post. All the ones left are really beautiful, gah!
I
made a couple of cheese souffles when I was a teenager! And my mother dictated the recipe to me over the phone while she was in the hospital!
Also, my favorite is Antonia because we Antonias have to stick together!
I don't have any particular love for the Stephanie on the show.
The MMaS shoot and runway show were awesome. Holly looked absolutely stunning in both, and despite the fact that Perry is a ginormous, arrogant asshat, he was smoking in that top hat and eye shadow at the cemetery.
I also thought Shannon looked beautiful in her photo -- beautiful and dead, which is what she was supposed to be. She didn't look stiff to me, though -- the lines of her body were very fluid and graceful, and her face in profile was breathtaking. So. That was sort of weird to me.
TC: I've never made a souffle, and I guess I always assumed they were difficult due to years of bad sitcom jokes about the things falling, but I sort of assumed that anyone who had gone to culinary school or was working in a professional kitchen would have *some* idea how to make one.
