Hmm. It's sounds like the finest party I can imagine getting paid to go to.

David A – We Can Work It Out

In the pimp spot. And he doesn’t even need it. Are they trying to make people turn on him? Nice. Good song choice for him. Oh, poor baby. He flubbed the words. What a weird arrangement. Is this the Stevie version? Because it is not good. And he doesn’t know even one of the words. So this is really bad. Really bad. I cannot believe that on this night of some pretty great performances this got the pimp spot. Really, really not good. Judges totally right. Simon totally right again. Goodness, stop with the judge catfighting. Nobody cares anymore. The whole world is over it.

Damn, I had already forgotten what half of them sang. Please, for the love of all that is holy, let Kristy Lee go home this week.

My cable hiccuped and I wasn't sure if David A. forgot his lyrics -- I guess he did.

Also, I don't think he really has the voice for fast songs. I feel like his voice is perfect for the type of slow songs that call for a dark "Star Search" stage, and a single light shining on him like "Imagine." Uptempo songs don't seem to "fit" him.

Michael Johns also reminds me more of Mark Ruffalo than the Michael Hutchence thing they've been trying to sell me on.

Because books.

Sail, you should have listened to the whole David Cook -- I thought he rocked it at the end.

Poor David A. That was wretched. I always feel bad when they're so young and they just bomb.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I caught more of it during the run though at the end. He may have rocked it, but the dude has such a limited range, it left the song feeling a little flat musically.

I just hate David C. so much that I can't be objective about his performances.

My faves of the night by far were Chikezie, Carly and Amanda. And then there's a fairly big break to Brooke and Michael who I thought were solid if not stunning. The bland and boringly forgettable (but mostly unobjectionable group) were Syesha, Ramiele, and Jason. And then a huge drop to the actively bad or I dislike you intensely group of the David Trifecta and Kristy Lee. Any of the bottom group could go, although I would like to keep David A. a little bit longer because he's such a cutie and I really think he can sing.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Kat, I love you to death on Idolatry. I watch it every week on Friday or the weekend and I just love your fucking snark.

Fabulous that I can comment on your videos here. You have made me laugh out loud more than once.

I bow down to the folks on Idolatry but take no credit for their week to week bringing of the snark. Through a combination of wheedling and sheer unwillingness to take no for an answer, I was able to wrangle an invite to be the weekly call in guest. The rest is all Slezak and company, god love 'em. You can bet I'ma do everything I can to get back on before the season ends.

And I stalk those videos the minute they are posted, so if you ever want to comment, I'm so totally down.

I love Carly *and* Brooke. I think Brooke's got that nice husky emotional quality to her voice, and I'd like to see her singing her own songs, maybe.

Amy is me. Although Amanda is probably the only one I would actually want to see in concert. I didn't even really know the song and I was entertained, which is rare, especially when they get into contemporary stuff.

Reading Kat's comments, I'm very glad I fast forward through all the interview/clip crap.

Oh yeah. Even if it was just fronting a bar band.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Awesome TWOP quote from the latest Big Brother weecap:

There used to be a picture of Sheila next to the phrase "loose cannon" in the dictionary, but then she went off and blew the dictionary up.
