Well, I wasn't expecting Patty's choir to be other than a fairly strong church choir, which is usually a couple of really strong sopranos and other folks who can carry a tune. It was all very Patty-fied.

I thought Nick's was by far the weakest choir, too.

It was all very Patty-fied.

This = very true. They weren't terrible, by any stretch. I'm just... a choir nerd. They all had very different vibes, which made it hard for me to pick a favorite.

I'm predicting Lachey's will go tonight.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I didn't see it, except for the two-minute summation before Journeyman came on, but the whole thing was vastly outside any experience I've ever had in a choir. Unsurprisingly.

It's like Sister Act 2 (Nun Whoopi builds a choir out of poor inner-city kids including Lauryn Hill and JLoHew), where they go to a state choir competition and there are spotlights and gospel robes and a ceremonial butchering of "Ode to Joy."

Clash of the Choirs: I'm still unimpressed by Team LaBelle. I mean, yeah, they break it down, but.... @@.

I didn't watch tonight. I really tried but there was just waaaayyy too much filler. Bleagh. Was there more than ten minutes of actual singing in that hour? Whose choir got kicked off?

There was not in fact more than ten minutes of singing. Rowland's choir got kicked. I'm still pulling for Bolton (though he was 4th out of 5, so I wonder if he's gone tomorrow), with Lachey once again the worst of the four, IMO.

EEK. How did Lachey's choir beat out Kelly's? The one moment that I turned it on last night and they had singing popping off, Lachey's choir was singing Friends in Low Places which, just no, dude. So not a song to be sung by a choir. And the lead was off key from the jump. Put me right off even trying to watch the rest.

How did Lachey's choir beat out Kelly's?

I don't even know. But last night, they blew the doors off an a capella version of Flight of the Bumblebee, which renewed them somewhat in my eyes.

Shelton's is kind of the little choir that could, and I'd be impressed as hell if they won.

I think it's clear how it's going to go, though, after LaBelle's choir last night. She's kind of... flaily and wigging me out, but it can't be argued that she can direct a good choir. And the soloist on "Jesus Take The Wheel" was pretty amazing.

Oh hell, I forgot to vote!

Art Crawl!!!

Just watched the Runway shows but not the judging. Really good but I have to say that I think that Biddell had the most progression in his show - it's like MG and Lucian got to a point and everything was that, you know?
