Punishingly Intricate

I wish he wasn't such an internet superstar, because how are we going to become BFFs now??

I know!

Librarian Warlord

My sister on the Next Great American Band (which I have not seen):

One of the bands, Cliff Wagner and Ol’ #7 – the token bluegrass band – are friends of ours. The bluegrass community here (Jim calls it the bluegrass underground) is quite excited to have old Cliff on the TV and we actually even voted for him last night. We know Cliff from our Boston days, when in one of the first couple years there, Jim brought this skinny (he’s not skinny anymore) kid home who he’d met playing the banjo in Harvard Square. He slept on our floor for a couple of nights and he and Jim played together on and off for the couple years he was in Boston. Then Cliff moved to NYC and we lost track of him. Well, the first year we were in LA Jim went to a jam and looked across the room at this pudgy older guy who was playing banjo and thought the playing sounded familiar and to make a long story short they recognized each other. Cliff tried several times to get Jim to be his guitar player, but Cliff really wanted a full time band and Jim’s wife thought that giving up your teaching job (with health insurance, a paycheck and a pension) to join this bluegrass band was not a good idea.

Thrive to spite them

That was an interesting tribal council. The best part was Jeff threw the fake idol into the fire.

Of course now Erik knows that James has the idols hidden in his pants (his spare pants) so I wonder if Erik and PG will try to steal it or something.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Survivor: Well, that was delicious fun. Still not caring too much about any of these folks, but they are an awfully scheme-y bunch. Lots of gamesmanship this season.

TAR: The goth couple is already annoying me and they haven't even started yet.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think there's a rule about stealing the idols.

Speaking of schemes: So you rig it so someone has both idols and then decide to blindside them. O-kaay. Am I the only one seeing the flaw in that plan? Don't you have to "blindside" them twice - even three times if you actually want them out? Maybe it would have worked on Jamie, but I'm pretty sure James isn't quite as stupid as all that.

Ready to see the end of both J-R and Courtney, though she did have one good line. "I dislike them less than I dislike the rest of the tribe." Shrug " I guess they mistake that for friendship."

I do love James when he's boggling at the idiocy around him.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

OMG Jamie, how stupid do you have to be! I don't blame her for not knowing that the idol has to say it's the idol. Fine. But why do you think James would leave it laying around? When he has two plaques in his pants! It boggles! I wish I could have a transcript of the conversation with Frosti where she explained just how that immunity idol came to laying on the ground. There were two plaques in the camp, and one idol, and one plaque was missing! My god, Jamie!

I think the idea is to vote for him now when he doesn't expect it, so he doesn't play the idol at all, and leaves with two idols in his pocket, taking both of them out of the game.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Survivor: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! And the ep title was even "I'm not as dumb as I look." Price. LESS.

Something tells me James won't be that easy to blindside. I'd love for it to come down to Todd v James in the end & see who the real brains in this group are.

Finally caught up with Next Iron Chef. Definitely rooting for Symon over the other two.
