Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Not going to lie, Big Brother All-Stars is exactly what I needed this summer.
Anybody else watching Big Time Bake?
Hadn't heard of it, but I'll be watching it now! I love baking competitions.
mmmm no, I don't like the format of Big Time Bake. The "send them home in the middle of their work" thing kinda hurts to see. But we never got a chance to connect with the bakers, so I also kinda don't care.

Yeah, I'm not sure whether I'll bother with the next season (if there is one). I only started watching because the first episode featured a local chef (Chef Maeve) that I've actually met and quite like. The thing you spoiler-fonted also bothers me, plus the format just seems unnecessarily stressful, which is really not what I'm here for in a baking show. (I get irritated even on GBBO when I hear the stressy violins as time is getting down to the wire). I mostly asked not because I need someone to discuss it with, but because my DVR cut off the last minute of the season finale and I needed to find out who won (without having to watch the whole episode again On Demand - not without my FF!), but thankfully someone on FB was able to handle my query.
