Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The more people I talk to, the more I'm not sure why I didn't think that was weird at all! I mean, they are that shape, but not that kind of dough.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

la la la ... haven't seen the finale yet ... one thing I don't think I'll ever understand is their passion for beetroot (that's beets, right?). They seem to use it for coloring, flavoring, thickening ... I mean, beets are fine, but they seem a little overly fond of it.

hah, it hadn't occurred to me that's what they looked like Brenda, but you're right. I was just confused about how they were supposed to look/taste. And I felt like in the finale, their showstoppers seemed way less intense than last years wedding cakes, which had to be super fancy?

Mostly I now want to do a lot of baking. And am sad when someone linked to an article about the "new season" starting in the UK that we won't get for like, years. (But I'm too lazy to figure out how to torrent or whatever the kids do to watch foreign tv these days)

If I remember correctly, the wedding cakes from last year (except the winning Frances's) were kind of disappointing. I remember one woman did a stamp with some text about love that she put on the cake. The second one I don't remember, but I do remember Frances doing something both festive and impressive. She always went for the super pretty, sometimes at the expense of the taste ... but she learned better.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Less fun the second time, but thanks. ;)

Left out of the edit for my second performance (after I was Xed).

Me to Howie Mandel: "What was different for you this time?"

Howie Mandel: "The shirt?"

As if Brexit and the US presidential election weren't enough, a sure sign that this is truly the end of days: Bake-Off is leaving the BBC for Channel 4 after this current series, and Mel and Sue are not going with it. (No news on Paul and Mary as yet).
