Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

Miss Debbie Allen!!

I didn't even need anything more than that.

So quick thoughts:

Ricky Ubeda. I am over the moon. Completely and totally 100% satisfied with him as the winner.

Zach in fourth place? I see the reality TV voters of America are still on that bullshit. That routine with Amy was stunning. That is not fourth place. Uh uh.

So I guess the memo was to only choose hip hop or something by Travis or Sonya, yes? With all the great Broadway we saw on the show this year, and given that the winner will be in On the Town, you'd think maybe? No? We really needed to see that Serge/What's her face skeleton hip hop again? Really?

And to totally contradict myself, that Emilio/Jasmine piece was slap-yo-mama, shut it down amazing. Much respect. Jasmine is for real, y'all.

It was good to see White Tanisha again. Totally should've made top 4 over Jessica.

Also, Shankdaddy.

I'm gonna miss this show. Hasta next summer.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But WILL the winner be in On The Town? I could see Ricky turning it down, and them hiring Zach anyway.

Whether or not Ricky takes the part, the producers should still cast Zach. He's tailor made for a show like On the Town. Heck, they should cast Rudy, too. He was terrific in the Broadway pieces this year and he also has the right look and body type. Also, White Tanisha and Aaron. Heck, they could practically cast the entire chorus just from SYTYCD current cast and alums.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Bet that would be good for ticket sales.

Totally agree!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I'm just watching the finale now. In the top ten/all star group number, who was the breaker who was playing the homeless guy in the knit cap?

I usually hate group numbers and message pieces, but I floved this!

I think it was Dom, too. If so, he has learned how to turn down the mugging 5000% which made him so much easier to enjoy. I liked the piece a lot, although there was so much hip hop in that finale. So much. I'd have preferred something else other than contempo-hop just to get a little break.

Know what else I really liked? The number of times they cut to the judges' table to find Miss Debbie Allen either in mid-boogie or giving some amazing "Ooooh, child, that's the way I like it" face, or saying something that made the other judges crack up. In short, Miss Debbie Allen is a delight and she needs to come back and judge more often. Jenna Dewan Tatum, you are no substitute. Have y'all noticed that the ratings have fallen off since they stopped having Miss Debbie Allen as a more regular guest judge on the panel? That's probably not coincidence. Ha! More Miss Debbie Allen for all!
