So, routines I completely forgot about just in the time between when they were danced and the recap:

Serge and Carly and Jacque and Zack. I thought Serge and Carly were fine but the routine was a whole lot of warmed over "meh". Mandy Moore needs to step her game up. I'm sad that Serge keeps hitting B3 because I think he's really good outside his style. Carly's kinda whatever. I don't mind that she doesn't go home since there are still other girls who are way worse than she is. Jacque is so disappointing. Bot the ballerinas have been less than spectacular. Sonya told her that pretty wouldn't be enough. Too bad she didn't, or couldn't take that advice. Like Misty, I'm always disappointed by her technique. She should be a much stronger dancer. Zach continues to be tons less goofy when he's dancing than when he's not. He coped well with Sonya's style. I wouldn't say I really enjoyed him, though.

Group routines:

I was in awe of the Sonya piece. So lovely. I will definitely be re-watching that one once I get home. Gorgeous.

Peanut's piece was oddly Wade-esque, no? Not that I didn't like it, just that a lot of the movement felt derivative. Still, it was nice to see Peanut do a harder edged piece. His lyrical/contemporary tends to be a bit floaty and emote-y and this was aggressive and in your face.

Sonya totes won the head to head battle between the two.

Going Home Marcquet and Brooklyn

Yes. Our long Utah nightmare is over. Actually, though I never liked her, I quite liked him at one time. He just failed to ever catch fire on the show.

I'll be surprised if Zach doesn't hit B3 again next week. I think Serge might, too, primarily because that Mandy piece was forgettable. By all rights, the other B3 boy should be Casey because dear god that hip hop. My eyes. I still have not recovered. And yet, he's kind of basket of kittens and puppies adorable so the tween voters may keep him out and force Teddy down into B3, which I would not be at all mad about.

For the girls, Emily has got to be there. That salsa was just bad, y'all. And Jessica can't keep turning in lackluster performances and beating the odds forever. I'm hoping she hits B3 this week and it lights a fire under her butt. Whatever she found while dancing with Ricky, she needs to find that again. And quit with all the mugging. That must stop immediately. The third girl is tough. All the rest of them held their own. Maybe Carly hits B3 for being in that boring routine from Mandy? Or maybe Jacque for being just OK in her routine.

Good show this week.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I did give in to watching Big Brother this summer, and it has all been worth it, thanks to the most perfect use of "bless his heart" EVER in last night's episode.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

OK, I've watched Face Off! The cake decorator looks promising. And the Hunger Games caused shake up in the judges should be interesting. Otherwise, really there's just too many of them at this point for me to have much opinion on individuals. The preview for the coming season looks fantastic!

I was really impressed by the cake decorator. I also really like the new judge; she seems like she is going to be snarky.

We would love to but I think it might be difficult, unless meara is in the valley. We just moved out here and my work day ends at 6:30... Give me a shout closer to the day and we will see if it's possible!

I don't know what constitutes the Valley!! I will be flying into LAX in the morning, and staying at a hotel downtown, and have a rental car. So I could probably be anywhere?

I'm finally starting to remember some of these folks. I really like Ricky. And was shocked at how much I liked Tanisha in that hip-hop number.

I think Serge might, too, primarily because that Mandy piece was forgettable. By all rights, the other B3 boy should be Casey because dear god that hip hop. My eyes.

I like Serge a lot, but yes, that was completely forgettable. And oh, that Casey hiphop was painful. But he is adorbs, so the girls may vote for him (though Serge is cute too! Why not vote for him??)

Most of the girls have still not distinguished themselves for me. Though damn, dislocating a shoulder and then doing that salsa routine in the same day? The routine may have been kinda bad, but damn.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I can't believe Jessica hasn't hit B3 yet.

But her partner has gone every week, save Ricky, right? Weird.

She's a total partner killer. It just makes me have even more admiration for the glorious Ricky. He really pulled something out if her. She's a totally different dancer on her own.

Who is Amanda de Cadenet? Anyone watching her post Runway thing? I don't think I'm going to but I'm a little curious.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

You're not in the valley... I thought you might he in Woodland Hills or something like that relatively close to my new house. Getting to my place that time of day would be... Difficult. We can see if we can drive down to Kat, which is slightly easier.
