I watched Matchmaker, I'll probably watch that again. I saw the episode with the 41 yr old virgin who is gay. I hope since this was filmed he's found a guy he's attracted to, had sex, and realized all those excuses were just ways of denying he just isn't attracted to women.
I also watched the episode with the guy with bad manners and over tanned girl. It seems the guy with bad manners learned something and if he hasn't made a love connection he at least made a friend connection. But, oh, the over tanned girl! She's 22 years old! I was thinking she's one of those women who is 28 or 29 and freaked out over turning 30 and trying to recapture her lost "youth". But she's 22! By the time she's 30 she's going to look like she's in her late 40s.
Oh! And I set to record Ice Truckers because it looks interesting. I tried watching Deadliest Catch but I kept feeling bad for the crabs.
Oh, I totally forgot to watch Matchmaker!!
They'll probably show reruns. I didn't finish watching the new episode, it was kinda hitting my humliation buttons so I decided to record it so I can fast forward over the date part. This is the episode where the woman has a list of 60 things a man has to have for her to date him. sixty! She asks the guy if "his plumbing works" during the date!
I've added Ice Truckers to my Tivo list as well, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
So what's Ice Truckers all about?
There are a couple of places in Alaska that are way out in remote areas and are basically impossible to get to. One diamond mine in particular.
Except during winter when the lakes freeze. Then there's a road that opens up that's practically a straight line to the mine, and you can truck in all the heavy equipment, drilling and mining rigs, and supplies the mine needs.
By driving over the frozen lakes.
It's one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.
I frequently sit in my cubicle at work, contemplating my normal work world and my average life of "pay the rent/utilities/etc" world and then being amazed that there are thousands of people out there who live a life radically different from mine. IE, folks who drive those ice trucks etc.
Watching that Bobby Flay challenge show - he's going up against Mark Israel, chef/owner from the Donut Factory in New York. The guy's donuts may be good, but he's coming off as a real asshole. Get over yourself, dude.
I saw that one, brenda. He's kind of psychotic, in fact.
