Totally agree. Even Tim said he lost his way with this dress, and that's enough to go home on (although I probably would have kicked Karen to the curb because I actually thought her dress was worse). He really didn't have an idea for this design beyond making lace and the dress ended up very arts and crafts lingerie. I wish he'd pushed himself out of his comfort zone with design rather than decoration.

Oh well, maybe he'll wow us with something amazing next week and we will eat our words.

Because books.

Karen's dress WAS a tent. There was nothing there. And she was going to leave it cream-colored! I could have made something approximating that.

very arts and crafts lingerie

Exactly.

Bradon totally got over. He should count his blessings.

He did. His "It's okay. I'm a little surprised." line about his design might be my favorite competitor's runway comment, though. I love when they know they've gotten themselves into the weeds.

BTW, my co-worker is on vacation to go glamping the early part of next week (it's how she's been referring to it for weeks, they have a new RV and there's no dirt where they stay) so this was a timely episode for her. She was happy for the save because of the niceness factor but Jeremy is her favorite.

OMG, y'all, I woke up with the Face Off music (what they play when they reveal the make-ups, I think) stuck in my head and it is driving me up a wall: slightly ominous and anxiety-producing and just repeating and repeating.

At least I've identified it, now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I finally googled her eyebrows, and was glad to see I'm not the only going WTF.

Also, PS: You were right about the Amanda v. Helen who's in charge question.

I do think it was Helen up until that week though.

And now I have to go Google her eyebrows

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Hi, East Coast peeps! Live viewing SYTYCD. I totally forgot what this is like.

Cat looks like she’s going to dance ballroom later.

Dance Ins: Paul is really just a little ball of charisma. He draws the eye like crazy.

Why isn’t Miss Debbie Allen on the panel again? She should so be a permanent judge. Oh, but if I can’t have Miss Debbie Allen, I’ll take JTF. He’s delightful!

Ah, group dance. Jazz. Sean Cheesman. Ailey business. Jasmine and Aaron are ruling that center. Giving me life in that Judith Jamison way. Aaron is just a man out there. Fik Shun is doing it to it as well. I see you young man, giving me those contractions. Work! The less said about Hayley and Amy in this dance the better. Amy and her perma-smile in particular are just so wrong for this dance. Paul is keeping up better. He’s not pulling my eye in a negative way. I would’ve liked to see that routine with different dancers. I also would’ve like for it to be less of a direct rip off of Ailey. But apparently, I don’t always get what I want.

Paul and Kathryn/Jazz/Tasty/Tied Up/Yelo – Tasty can do OK provided he’s not doing Broadway and Paul is really versatile. And of course I adore the high talker. I’m jazzed about this jazz. Lovely starting visual. And from the jump, Kathryn is ready. I feel like I saw her do this solo before somewhere else. Paul is certainly the most versatile ballroom boy they’ve ever had. He’s way better than Pasha in non-ballroom styles. He’s got a gorgeous toe point. Really gets down in his plié. He can throw away a lot of that ballroom dance body position in a way that I don’t think any other ballroom boy has been able to. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Nifty routine. Fun. The judges are right. This kid is a real dance chameleon. I wonder how much cross training he’s had. Being on SYTYCD Armenia set him up well. Also, he’s awfully pretty.

Amy/Anna’s Theme/ The Red Violin - Her body is just so everything that a dancer’s body should be. She’s a little bit out of control tonight. Her center is off and her turns are wobbly which is not something I normally associate with her. It was just an OK solo. She’s been much much better.

Joshua. Hip hop hooray!
