I would have loved for the roller derby moms to win, but as long as it wasn't Max and Katie, I'm satisfied. The hockey boys are fine, but yawn, another athletic white male team.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
The athleticism was definitely a plus for them, but they did have to draw on a whole lot of smarts and ingenuity and resourcefulness.
I suppose as hockey players, they'd not only traveled a whole lot before, but had to switch from Travel Mode to Play Mode really quickly, or they wouldn't have lasted long professionally. And I bet they both fall asleep at will.
(Speaking of which -- on America's Worst Tattoos the other week, one of the remedial tattooees FELL ASLEEP while he was being worked on. Without, you know, any evidence of substances helping him along.)
The Voice: Holy crap, Sasha was outrageous doing "Oh, Darling."
The youngest girl, the one on Blake's team, is also really good.
Long post (The Voice):
So, "The Voice"... The thing right now is that each team has one person who I would EASILY eliminate. I also think each team has at least one person who is just awesome.
On Adam's team, Amber is the bomb. Her voice is amazing. She has great control and I would be surprised if she doesn't make to the final 8. I also really like Judith. I like Sarah's voice, but she needs to improve her stage presence. She doesn't command it like she could. I think Caroline should go though. I am done with her unique voice and think she is an easy eliminate.
On Usher's team, I fucking hate Josiah. I want him gone NOW. He is pretty, but he doesn't really have the pipes. He is a pretty boy, so I guess he might stay in for a bit, but I really want him to leave. Cathia is likely the one to be eliminated though. My favorites on Usher are Michelle Shamuel (which sounds like a made up last name if I ever heard one) and Vedo.
Blake: I do not care for the Swon Broathers. I would be happy to see them go. I am okay with the other three, but I think Holly and Danielle are really really good.
Shakira: I want Garrett gone so badly I can taste it. I just think he is barely talented and that song choice made my teeth itch. "Imagine", really? Ugh. I am all about Sasha though. Karina is my #2 on the team. If Garrett or Kris goes, I will be okay.
So I wouldn't have saved the Swon Brothers or Garrett, because seriously.
I do like that they did the eliminations all quick -- no, "Here's one person saved, one more after Rod Stewart," no, "We'll have Blake's decision when we get back."
Also, I am here to report that watching 5 hours of The Voice is a row is a little much.
So I wouldn't have saved the Swon Brothers or Garrett
Or Josiah, even though I was pretty sure that was going to happen
Yeah, pretty much the only decision I agreed with was Caroline. And let me just say, thank god.
The worst save in my mind was Josiah. I'm at least happy he was in the bottom two because I think that bodes well for his imminent elimination given how weak Usher's team is overall
Note: All coaches got rid of their steal (except Blake who didn't take either to this round). Sasha is the only steal left in the competition now.
megan,
I noticed that as well. I figure Steals aren't long for this show. I am so glad about Caroline and that is the only one with which I agreed. I think Garrett was the worst save, but oh well. Nice to know 3 of the judges have easy eliminations next week.
Yeah, I really dislike Josiah (not that Garrett belongs there either--on my blog write-up, I called producer shenangians starting with the battle rounds on that one).
Nice to know 3 of the judges have easy eliminations next week.
I don't think they have a say anymore do they? Doesn't it go to a strict audience vote now? That's why I suspect Josiah will be at the bottom.
