The Voice has had semi-famous people on it since the beginning. S1 winner Javier had already had a few minor hits on "urban" radio (which I owned and listened to often on my ipod) before he got on the show. And then there was last season's former Mouseketeer (and object of X-Tina's undying hatred) Tony Lucca. I know some folks think it gives those contestants an unfair advantage due to bringing a built in fanbase to the competition, but I kinda like it. You get at least a minimum guarantee of competence. . . like a non-Sanjaya clause.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
There was one last season, I think, who had had a video on VH1 -- you just have to not have a current recording contract, not have never had one, which I do like.
oh yeah. Tony Vincent - mfing huge on Braodway. That chick on C-Los team, she had had more than one record contract.
What's Cassadee's connection to Pete Wentz?
It is really the Tony Vincent that flabbergasted me. He is legit pretty darn successful
Cascaded was in a band signed by Pete's label. His personal label, which I am not sure exists anymore.
I am not sure what is funnier - how much Christina hates Melanie or how much Melanie hates Christina.
I am genuinely shocked and appalled!
