So that's where my Community post went. Wrong thread, obviously. Sorry!
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
There was a Mythbusters?!
TAR: LOVED the library task! (Though I sure hope the Russians have an electronic catalog for their patrons.) I'm sorry more players didn't try it, because I would have predicted that the synchronized swimming was going to be super-tough.
But me, I'd have spent at least part of those long plane-rides/layovers trying to memorize the Cyrillic alphabet and what the letters stand for, since I'd have to look forward to deciphering roadsigns at the least.
Loved the shot of the alphabet posted on the side of the catalogs, thank you nameless cameraperson. I hope you got a bonus for thinking of that.
Sarcastic Russian swim coach was marvelous, though I'm glad she wasn't speaking English, which would have been even more demoralizing for the contestants.
"He's like a buoy!" I liked that she was both sarcastic and encouraging, depending.
The Voice: Everyone left really is great, which is fun to watch. I enjoy Cody Belew a great deal, and I know he loves the diva songs, but I wish he would sing a Killers song!
I'm sort of caught up on America's Next Top Model. I haven't watched last week's episode but I was so glad to see Kristen out she's had a bad attitude the whole time. I think in the first or second episode where she was the one trying goad another would be model into hitting her to get them eliminated.
Askye, I'm still watching it, though I'm not really sure WHY. It's so awful.
Also, I don't like Melanie.
Oh god, Terry's voice is shredded. Poor noodle.
I don't like her either, she is soooo young and seems so affected.
I love Nicholas David.
meara the whole situation with Victoria was painful. I felt so bad for her and at the same time wondering how sheltered her mother had kept her.
I keep wondering if she had that hard of a time relating to the other girls or if there was a lot of editing.
