I think he just meant for her. It's become such a popular dye choice, but if you have cool coloring it's not the most flattering.
A stylist in Paris tried to explain this to me ages ago when I first wanted to cover my greys. But, I had always wanted my mother's auburn hair, so that's what I chose. When I finally did color analysis last year and switched to ash brown, it looked so much better.

I have cool coloring, and I love having red hair. I think there are so many shades of red, that there is one that will work for every coloring.
I liked having red hair too. It's just not the most flattering shade for me. I could go in an eggplant direction, which would work better, but that's not the red I think of when I think red.
