Anyone going to watch The Great Escape on TNT tonight? It looks like a lot of fun.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
So, I turned on the TV and am watching the Pioneer Woman show
Is that the cooking show? (I only saw it a few times, and that was a while ago.) I do remember that she did all the cooking of course, since it was her cooking show, while her husband and the cowboys were out herding cattle and such. But then after they ate lunch the men did the dishes, which I thought was a nice touch.
I think it's less about the men doing the big work (because her daughters do outside ranch stuff too) and more about her being somebody who just does the cooking, blogging and other writing.
So it may be sexist but it is certainly alot about the life of somebody who lives the life of a very wealthy woman.
NYT Great Escape Slideshow - okay - this made me want to see it.
I watched the first two eps and they were really fun. Not as addictive as TAR, but still good.
I didn't love it, but I was tired and didn't end up paying a lot of attention.
Project Runway news (includes spoilers for the coming season, unless they edit this stuff out).
I have only seen the first ep of The Great Escape. I'm willing to give it a couple of more episodes before I decide.
The "getting caught by guards" felt uneven. I feel like they should have been caught more, based on the first part of the escape...but then what is the fun in that. Not sure if that same device will be in all the escapes.
I was curious about how they would handle the tasks without causing damage to Alcatraz and I think they handled that as well as possible.
bon, you and bob bob should come watch SYTYCD with me one night.
Aw, I wanna see SYTYCD with kat too!!
I'm in the midst of watching Vegas, and I reiterate that I could watch so much more of this, days and days OMG!
It's kind of depressing how moved I am by Cyrus making it through jazz, eesh! And poor Danielle getting hit in the head--I was super impressed that she finished the number!
Srsly, Rachel? You are "staying true to the burlesque style"? Don't get me wrong, I love good burlesque, but...notice that that Pussycat Doll is no longer a judge. Also, your number is not very burlesquey. It just made me uncomfortable. (As Miss Debbie Allen says, "take that note")
I love how moved Adam always is by the dancing. Awesome.
I would HATE having to pick my own group, because I would feel so awkward and worry no one wanted me, etc etc. Also, if the girl had a concussion, is staying up all night a good plan?!? And then she gets kicked out. That sucks a lot.
I've always felt the group numbers are a little harsh, because it's not like so you think you can choreograph!!
I also want to know all sorts of things like where they're getting costumes and what the choices are--surely they didn't all happen to bring blue jean vests or whatever??
Wow, Tyce, you ARE being bitchy. Eesh. You just wanted her to cry?
I like how Cyrus is trying. I mean, sure, he's not a trained type dancer, but he's awesome. HIs ballroom is terrible though. (And DAMN his solo was kick-ass)
I was really surprised by Audrey getting cut in the chacha--she looked ok to me! (I mean, not amazing, but good enough, y'know?) Especially after they'd said how much they liked her.
I'm also a bit sad about Mariah, female krumper. Because if nothing else, her solos would've been pretty fun, and I would've loved to see her work with Lil C (and see if he thought she was a fool).
I'm surprised bellydancer girl got through to the end, and wish they'd showed us more of some of the other folks (who was tuxedo guy, for instance?!)
Really? They cut Adrian?!?! Dang.
OK, now to go back and read what kat wrote!!
OMG, love the Debbie Allen clips thing Jesse posted. LOVE.
(I mean, not amazing, but good enough, y'know?)
Yeah, I find that confusing sometimes. Mostly because I don't know anything about dance, of course!
