Because books.

Oh, I agree. I just don't care because I love them!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Totally. But that was a bitch of a challenge, mostly due to the judging.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, and honestly, he probably shouldn't have passed him on that last one, according to the standard he'd held earlier in the day. But it really was brutal, and he was sick to begin with. I like them a bunch, including what they said and did today, but I still think they're not long for the competition.

Although at this point, there's not too much competition left!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

for those who like watching the shows for singers, there's going to be one called "Duets" - I caught a bit of an ad for it; I have no idea when, can't remember which network ... I'm not being very helpful here, am I?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I like that the editing freeze-framed the error for us dance-impaired viewers.

Makes the contestant who got thru in one try look VERY impressive.

Mark & Bopper set a high watermark for supportive teammating.

You know, I would have chosen the three-wheel rickshaw driving challenge in a heartbeat. I'm impressed that the one driver was so awful that she made an inadvertent wheelie.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I just got caught up with Amazing Race and OMG. If they weren't fan favorites before, they darned well better be now.

Seriously. In all ways. Including the offer to leave, but also the bit where he tells him, no, I am not all right, but please just get out of my face so I can do this, and he does. And yet they're just there for each other, all the way through.

Because books.

Oh, Cee Lo. Never change. That was absurd and sort of awesome.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I always like it when eliminated contestants aren't that upset -- they knew it was their time, and really appreciated the chance they've had. Although I feel bad that little James with the headband is apparently going to be on the local news tonight. I can't decide if I hope it's a live interview or not.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, tonight's choices were way easier than last week's, and I agreed with both. We're at the stage where the singers are very good, so just skating will not carry it through.

Minor notes: it annoys me that Pip anchors his mic off his chin instead of his upper lip. Sure you can see expression better, but your jaw is what moves, dude, and so does the mic, resulting in some wobbly vocs.

Minor note 2: wtf did they do to Juliette's styling? As a rocker brunette she was lovely and instantly recognizable. As a blonde, with the hair out of her eyes? Totally forgettable. She still sang the heck out of it, but man.

Cheesa keeps surprising me, and has stayed in on the power of her chops.

Right before Tony sang, I went, "He's going to do a Christina song!" But Adam was smart strategically because that only would have pissed her off more, where with this she had to at least begrudgingly appreciate the effort.
