Yeah, I saw a tweet about that, and was very disappointed--often the group dances during results shows were some of my favorite dances!! Though I will not miss random performances by groups I've never heard of (ETA: not the guest dancers, which I usually liked, but the random pop stars)

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
The results shows were *really* padded, and the "dances for your life" a mix between brilliant (many of the hip-hop dancers) and pathetic (most of the female contemporary dancers). The Sing-Off managed to do a really good job without a results show...
They need to get rid of the AMerican Idol results show too. That's a real waste of an hour.
That's a real waste of an hour.
Not for the advertisers, unfortunately.
I rarely watch any results shows. SYTYCD more than others perhaps as long as I could fast forward and check if the guest dancers were at all interesting. Of course, I fast forward through much of the shows themselves too.
Me too. I don't care about the backstory or what the dancers' favorite movie is, or whatever.
BTW, Project Runway Allstars starts tonight. (In about 10 minutes.)
I didn't realize it until today.
Oh, wow, thanks for the heads up! I don't know what to expect from it, but it's got Mondo, yay!
Oh, that was fun! I miss Tim and Heidi and Michael and Nina, but hey, Isaac Mizrahi doesn't suck. And the new model/host is lovely.
Also, THANK GOD to who went home.
