Daaaaamn, Pentatonics. If they don't win, I don't know what. And on the record deal/career front, it's so much likelier that they'd be successful as a professional group with only five people, no?

Of course, all the college kids (Aires, Afro Blue, etc) are about that age, too. It's the arrangers who really impress me at that age -- we know teenagers can sing!

Oh, I don't think I commented on this at the time, but remember a couple of weeks ago when that Michael from the Aires was saying he was now considering a career in music, and the judges were like, "Dude. What else were you going to do??" Dudes. He's at Dartmouth. You know his parents aren't paying that kind of money for their kid to be a struggling artist!

I don't know why I was surprised about how young the Pentatonix kids are. They just seem so mature, both musically and emotionally. The college boys seem like -- well, like college boys.
I know the judges rave about Michael from the Dartmouth Aires, but he really doesn't do it for me. And he's gonna do damage to his voice if he keeps singing in that way. He always sounds so strained.

Well, having them sing an encore was just needlessly cruel.
Based on the performances tonight only, I'd say Aires should be the one to go. They were a bit of a mess in both songs, even though they were high energy and entertaining.
I honestly don't get why the judges love Urban Methods so much. They've never done much for me.

NOT HAPPY. I thought that Afro Blue were better musicians, stronger arrangements. I liked the Aires, don't get me wrong, but their entertainment value overshadowed their musicality.
And I couldn't resist a hearty HU! when they mentioned Howard.
So. Sad. They were terrific. Better than Urban Method, definitely.
eta: I think that Pentatonix is going to take it, but I think that Afro Blue was the second strongest group.
