Wow, you've really mastered the power of positive giving-up.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I always feel a little twinge of pity, though, when they're doing the confessional interviews and they're SO cocky and sure of themselves, and two minutes later they're failing spectacularly.

He was 22! Confidence is good, but arrogance is terrible. And it was no shame to not butcher the meat, especially when you'd nerver done it before! Kudos to Tom for getting rid of him. It really set the tone for the rest of the chefs.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I completely agree. And it is one thing to do something inexpertly, but he took a hack saw to it.

You could tell that Tom was offended at how much waste there was.

Because books.

Tom was so hot in that moment. "Just get out." Mmm.

About to read Hugh Acheson's blog now. Apparently it's a riot.

Okay, he is funny, unibrow or not. "Colin, a vegan chef from Seattle, happily gives over the butchery to Moto Chris. Finding the tenderloin of the tofu is pretty easy, but pork is a bit more nuanced."

Art Crawl!!!

Here and I can't believe I went to the site - having forgotten that I'd not yet seen WoA.

Oh Top Chef last night was really good. I watched it twice (rewatch with the oldest kid). I was was so glad that they didn't seem to keep anyone just to cause drama unnecessarily. I'm also pleased with the number of female chefs this round. The pedigree of all that have made it so far is pretty outstanding.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I actually loved Coach for a minute there.

Oh man, I wanted to smack him. "I know the feeling of being in a group of people and being superior to them in some ways." Oh, poor baby, really? How did you ever survive?

(I actually started quoting The Social Network while DH and I were watching that scene. Coach, you're going to go through life thinking that girls don't like you because you're The Dragonslayer. But it won't be because you're a dragonslayer, it'll be because you're an asshole.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, got rid of that obnoxious personal chef before he even cooked a bite. Ha!

That was fantastic. And they didn't even taste the vegan chef with the spilled soup, did they?

Art Crawl!!!

No, they didn't. The presentation alone was enough to dump him.

Oh, and ditto the woman who didn't have the rabbit on the plate.

I have to say, I liked the lack of consideration. You fucked up on a basic level? You're OUT.
