"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The designers are all so high-drama without the strength to back it up.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about this season.

No amount of potential justifies letting Anthony Ryan get away with that outfit. Since they did two winners, I think they should have done two losers and sent them both home.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I think that he got a sympathy vote for working with Bert. It is one thing to throw another designer under the bus, it is quite another to push the driver out of the seat so that you can back the bus over him a few times. Bert added nasty comments as well as visibly celebrated the judges' criticism of the other designs. Did you make the only wearable design? yes. Were you a nightmare to work with? Yes.

Yes, Bert was awful at judgement, but the editing made it seem like Anthony Ryan was much worse to work with than Bert.

Because books.

I liked Bert in the first episode, and he certainly made a great garment in that challenge. But I think he's stuck on being "cranky old set-in-my-ways" dude, or he's being edited that way, and I haven't seen one thing from him since the first episode that was remotely as impressive as that little sundress.

I think Kimberly has some promise, too. Otherwise, I'm not blown away at all.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I'm not blown away by any of the designers. I like Kimberly more than I thought I would from the first episode when she was showing her portfolio, but I have to admit that I'm afraid she may have secret taste issues that will start to tell as the season progresses. Those shorts were just a couple inches away from being booty shorts with a leather strap around the bottom. Nobody else really does anything for me.

And I totally agree that many, many of these designers are way too shit don't stink for the level of talent currently on display. Josh and Bert for sure. Anya is a classic secret stank girl and has she actually sewn anything on her own yet? Anthony Ryan is way too high drama and his stuff is middle of the pack at best. Olivier is cute as a basket of kittens and puppies but his designs have not wowed. Embrace some color, for real. The blonde girl just makes ugly clothes that she for some reason thinks are cute. The others are all a blur.

Plus side? Tim looked adorable in jeans and tennis shoes.

A very bad review of Top Chef Spike's pizza place.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, this is another disappointing season for PR. Bright side?

If a dull, fugly design collection wins? It probably won't have been at the cost of an exciting and beautiful collection

"Sandwich King" is even more obnoxious than I expected it to be.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

And I want to reach back in the way back machine to say that I am in awe of the knowledge dropped by megan walker about SYTYCD history with dance counts and just all sorts of fun stuff. Stupid work is keeping me from talking about what's really important in life: dance based reality shows! But I have been enjoying the commentary.

Thanks kat! Your own commentary is always much appreciated.

I finally wrote up both my analysis and my sort-of-random awards.

Hah, love your "best judges comment" and the fact that there's a runner-up best bird. :)
