Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Suzy just doesn't seem to get it; she seems (to me) somewhat less clueless than Esther was, but she's not getting it. I think, maybe, the point that she'd never been to Germany was that she seemed completely clueless as to what German food should be and in the past she's made a point of reminding people that her family's from India.

And, watching Ben, I was thinking - however he does in the competition, his mother should start up a business selling chef's hats in wacky prints.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Project Runway starts tomorrow with a road to the runway special before it, in case anyone wants to set their DVR.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yes, but (at least in what we saw) they were giving her shit over it before she had actually produced anything to demonstrate one way or the other. It seemed weird to me. Unless you're Bourdain, standing on that principle would be pretty limiting.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay I had sworn off Project Runway after the Mondo judging fiasco. I wonder. If this season will be better? Even my own mother hated Gretchen.

Well ... last night, after Master Chef, my TV decided it wasn't going to get any of the Ion channels. So I reran the channel finder ... and it decided it didn't want to let me see Fox (which would have meant no SYTYCD). Didn't want to let me set it manually, either. Took about three tries, but it was registering when I turned it off.

If it doesn't let me watch SYTYCD tonight, I will be MOST annoyed.

In other news, if anyones' interested, CW is rerunning the "Plain Jane" show. It's kind of a makeover, but more positive - gives young women confidence-building exercises and such. Tomorrow, I think, they're showing the one where they throw the woman out of an airplane (yes, she has a parachute).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Project Runway starts tomorrow

Ooh, yay! My neighbor did the lighting in the house for them this season.

Because books.

I missed the beginning -- who is the other guest judge on SYTYCD this week?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Ugh, I see Tabatha sitting in the choreographer's section.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Rob Marshall and Lady Gaga are the guests.

And, I liked this NapTab routine. They pull a good one every now and then.

Because books.

Oh, Rob Marshall, like from Chicago? I thought he looked sort of familiar but I couldn't place him.
