Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Or at least somehow factored in the bottom 3 couples from last week into the bottom 3 for this week.

That would have made so much sense! Ah well.

Oh, I also wanted to note that I think the lighting and camera work is good this year.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just can't believe it was unanimous either, because that would mean Mary was okay with losing Iveta and keeping Ryan.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So, I just watched the results show. The decisions were cray-cray. But I cannot STAND Ryan, so I wasn't going to be happy if she stayed, period. I'm totally with Vortex here.

I agree with all the above that there should have been a way to factor in the low vote getters last week as well, or go with a bottom 4 or 5 or something. Wild. One thing I found interesting is that I believe last week's ratings were low, so I'm wondering if the voting was low too and that's the real reason why they decided to delay elimination for a week.

The men I didn't really care about all that much. I liked Ricky's solo, but I didn't think it was THAT much better than the tap dancer's. The judges threw Wadi under a bus the night before, so it was pretty obvious (and it was obvious to him as well I think) that he was going home.

I like Iveta, but she has some problems in Vegas, so I bet the judges took that into account.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, it is hard to believe that was unanimous. And I am so sad to see Nick go before we get a chance to see him do hip hop or jazz or anything really exciting (it's so unfair that he goes home after doing well at Bollywood!) but I would have been sad if Ricky got sent home just for being dragged down by Ryan, too. They really really should have sent someone home last week. It would have been a shame if we never got to see Miranda do hip hop because Robert was the obvious one to go, but at least it would have been just how the show works.

And I still don't understand their reasoning for keeping Ryan. I wouldn't have kept her just because of her out of control Performance Smile, but even allowing for differing taste I don't understand keeping her based on their critiques and feedback. Ridiculous.

Eta: that's interesting about the ratings, le n. Even so, it wasn't like the bottom three last week were out of left field.

Reality Blurred wasn't thrilled with the eliminations on SYTYCD either:

Oh, god, the Gatorade thing. I had blocked that from my memory.

Because books.

Anyone still watching Next Food Network Star? I think Penny is in trouble, and I can't say I mind. I think she had potential, and a hook for her show, but she's competing as if she's on Survivor.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I am, but I think I'm an ep behind. Penny makes for good reality TV, but I'm not sure she's actually competing to have a cooking show. I think she's competing to get notice by other reality producers.

I am. I can't stand most of the competitors this year though.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Penny serving the burnt up mac and cheese was insane. I wanted to try to like Orchid, but she is just kind of bland.
