I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I think I missed that one. I've seen snippets, and it looks interesting.

You can see it at the below link. It was one of my all-time favorites.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I wasn't blown away by the hummingbird contemporary this season and I'm not a huge fan of the Travis/Heidi bench dance from last season. I did love the Ivan/Allison "Why" from last season and I loved the first Mia contemporary this season with Lacey/Kameron. I think a lot of contemporary on this show winds up being a lot of flail, flail, run, throw your hair around. And even that can be good and engaging with good dancers (I'm thinking of the Ashle/Melody "Message in a Bottle" contemporary by Mia waaaaay back in S1). I just think most of the contemporary this season has been tired (Shauna/Cedric by Mia, Danny/Anya by Tyce) or has been well choreographed with dancers who couldn't deliver (Neil/Lauren goggle dance).

oh, but they were there. Just the one pair, though

Well, shut my mouth and call me LL. Yet another reason to re-watch this dance.

I've loved contemporaries in teh past, but it tends to be very hit or miss for me. And I didn't love Mia's tonight. I felt bad (and i LOOOOOOVE mia) but it didn't do much for me.

I think it's the tendency to point his toes at the end of every movement, even if it's supposed to be flat footed

Yes--there was a contemporary where he was doing the flat-foot thing, and I could practically FEEL him doing it

And. HAMMER DANCE!

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

The only dances I didn't really like were the hip hop (which was largely because of Danny, bless him) and the contemporary, because I didn't think they danced enough. I thought the rhumba (lack of rhumba notwithstanding) the latin jazz and the argentine tango were all very hot, and apparently I am willing to give a pass for hotness.

Pasha and Sabra are totally my favorites this week! I thought Pasha did surprsingly well at Broadway, and Sabra picked up the quickstep well too. Also, they sure love putting Dominic in those pants, don't they? I bet he never knew he had a flowy pants-wearer in him.

Librarian Warlord

I loved watching Pasha and Sabra this week, and I'm always amazed by Danny. The judges hit upon what I've been mumbling to my DH on the couch every week -- he disobeys the laws of physics when he just steps in/out of those spins like there's no momentum/gravity push/pulling at him. It's unworldly.

Did anyone else feel like they were being manipulated by the whole build up to Mia's dance? While I realize that this was especially personal for her, I still felt like the narration that this was about her and her Dad and his death, etc., translated to "Dare you to criticize it and/or Lacey and Neil because then you'll be dissing my dead Daddy!"

I'm a cold hearted beeyoch, I know. Still. Anyone else?

Did anyone else feel like they were being manipulated by the whole build up to Mia's dance?

Oh, definitely. I still liked it though. Even better on the second watch. But then, I am a huge sap. Honestly, one of the problems with contemporary is that too often they have to explain the dance before it's actually done. A good dance should stand alone on it's own merit. I would have liked the dance better if I hadn't known what Mia intended.

Yeah, he looked good last night. I remember thinking, I don't remember his being kinda hot, but maybe it was just because he's so annoying.
