You know, after watching Sonya's piece last night (which was just OK for the most part), I am even less happy about Ashleigh getting through on the sympathy vote. She could not have kept up with Kathryn and Ellenore the way that Mollee did. And I still think it's just wrong for her to have gotten a bye into the finale. I do think the show could've had an out if they'd wanted to take it. In the past, they have set a precedent with how they treat injuries. But neither case of letting the injured girl continue in the competition (Jesse/Noelle) resulted in that person getting a potential pass into the finale. And both of those cases happened when the judges were still picking who stayed and who went home, not when it was open to audience vote, the audience being infinitely more susceptible to the sympathy pleas and more likely to give someone they like a pity vote than the judges. So I think the show could've reasonably argued that the circumstances in FP's case were different enough that a different policy was warranted. If they had wanted to, which they obviously didn't. Still chaps my ass, though.

Last night's show. I can't believe it's almost over.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Fwiw I hated the "girl group" in last night's show. I WTF'd my way through their performance. That also wasn't the best I've heard Kris Allen.

The girl group was horrid. I kept being distracted by the gold tennies one had on while the others were wearing heels. I kept expecting her to breakout into some flips or something. I guess that made it easier to ignore the "song".

Is it for sure that Ashleigh is cleared to dance in the finals? Will she be healed by then or will they try to choreograph around her limitations? Those questions alone should have given reason to not give her a bye. It is unfair to her partner if they choreograph around her or if she can't perform.

Oh, the J-Pop group was heinous. I just really didn't understand that at all. Are they famous? I don't listen to the radio much these days, but I can't imagine that on any station anywhere.

Although I was a full on Glambert fan, I didn't mind the honey dip from AR last season on AI and I can even understand why and how he won. But if that song is any indication of what his album is like, well, let's just say I can see why it's not burning up the Billboard charts. He was still very, very pretty, though. At least he has that.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I fast forwarded through the girl group and Kris Allen. Of course, I also fast forward through most of the dance recaps, too. Get me to the results!

Art Crawl!!!

I just got an email from an agent promoting the Voltaggio Brothers - who are going out on a lecture tour.

Also - they have a website and here is a q&a that they did.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

SYTYCD: Haven't seen last night's show, but if I'd had my way the married's would have gone bye-bye.

Still should've been Travis

Speaking of, I just popped in to post this bit of nostalgia: Travis Wall dancing to Blower's Daughter in s2. [link] ::sigh:: His pirouettes are still my favorite.

Travis Frikkin' Wall, man. I'm always gonna be a Danny Tidwell fanatic and for me there is none better, but Travis is something else. And I love that dance. Gotta be one of the top solos ever on this show, along with Danny's We Are the Champions and Blake's Body Language.

Totes. Ah, back when pirouettes *meant* something.

Plus that solo has the bonus tearjerker mom bit.

Trust my rage

Isn't it kind of unusual to have trbial council before the :30 point? I'm a little surprised to see that everyone voted for Dave, if I saw that right?
