Me, too, Nora.
But I do think Michael is a really talented chef.
Well, WAH. I mean, it's not Hosea/Ilan win, he deserves it, but I realllllllly wanted Kevin to win.
Yeah, absolutely.
I also loved Kevin's mother -- she is the model for many drag queens, apparently -- and thought he got BY FAR the short end of the knife draw. It was nice to hear the brothers saying nice things about Jesse and Ashley, at least, because I think they both came off as sucky on the show.
I wish that Kevin could have chosen his chefs among those standing. Even if you are choosing 3rd you wouldn't get ass choices like he got from the knife draw.
The knife draw was sucky. I don't remember them not being able to choose before.
The whole thing seemed rushed tonight somehow, too, but maybe that's just me. I did love that their moms were there. They both seemed awesome.

It was totally rushed. We barely saw any cooking!
Poor Kevin. It was his to lose, but Michael had a better night.
I wish that they had expanded this episode by 15 minutes.
I have friends who ate at Michael's restaurant last month. NOw they know they've had dinner at a Top Chef's restaurant. (They really enjoyed it. They had the tasting menu and were having fun trying to decide what each course was going to be based on the sommelier's description of how the wine paired with the dish.)
Well, FUCK! I knew Kevin didn't have it from the comments that were made, but I really thought Michael had tanked two of his, while Bryan had gotten all of his (even if a couple were on the safe/bland side).
While Kevin got sucky sous chefs, I'm not sure they were to blame for the choice of just having pork belly on that dish. That was the one where Kevin could have shined (since it was a chef's choice option), so I knew him not nailing that one spelled his doom.
That said, I would love to get back to Atlanta someday and eat at his place.
And, yeah, Michael winning wasn't an abomination; he's talented, I just think he's a pretentious douchnozzle. That's not necessarily unheard of with good-to-great chefs.
He had me at "chicken skin." BF and I looked at each other in perfect foodie lust harmony when he said that. We are united in our love of the chicken skin.
My nonexistent uterus wants to have Kevin's crispy, crispy babies.
I am sad he didn't win; I thought he was just the most delicious-looking food all season. I thought he did have a crap night, and his sous chef choices were sucktastic.
He had a crap night, and really, that's what it came down to. In a sense I think it was his to lose, but they all came in pretty solid so it was make or break. Whiffing the pork belly was kind of shocking from him, and I don't think he could have ocme back from that barring other big surprises.
I think they should require people be at least 6 months past high school graduation at the time of tryouts. It's a huge transition to being more mature for most people.
It's a simple rule, really. No 16 year olds on AI. No 18 year olds on SYTYCD. That would make kat a happy camper.
That boys' cut was brutal. Brutal. I didn't want to lose any of them. Oh, Legacy. And they tortured us with shirtless Legacy in his season recap. I love that he did an LXD style routine for his final solo and I hope he has oodles and oodles of post show success. Still, I'm happy with this F3 of Jakob/Russell/Ryan.
The girls' cut was bullshit, but it was bound to be after the monumentally idiotic decision not to cut FP when she couldn't dance last night. The fact that FP pulled more votes than Ellenore is inexcusable. And the show has forced me to feel badly for the Tween Terror. Feh. I agree with the cowgirl that this elimination is probably the best thing that could happen to Mollee right now. She will mature a little bit finally. In a couple of years, she's going to be a monster. (PS: You want people to like you for your dancing, dear, not your personality. Mmmkay?)
