"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

And did you guys see Joanna lick the tongs she was stirring the risotto with?

I saw that and was surprised nothing came of it later.

Art Crawl!!!

Right. I think Julia's got good basics and she can learn to make those dishes but will Jen learn the sense to not take food out of the garbage if she hadn't learned that from her mother by now? Or Joanna being unable to small really bad crab? Or licking the damn tongs?

Sheesh.

And she can prioritize on the fly. If she knows what's going into something, she's aware of how much time she does or doesn't have on something else. Nobody else on either team seems to have the first clue how to do that. Learning the technique to make a dish is easier than learning how to do five things at once, IMO.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Does Chef Ramsey look at the footage when deciding who goes? There have been things that happened when he wasn't around that should have had some impact, but a lot of the time they don't ever seem to come up. I'm thinking especially of last season when one of the people said something was almost ready and the person who was assembling the service took her at her word and then got chewed out when it was going to take a while to cook and then the person lied about what she'd said.

I love that TWoP has the Gordon Ramsay bleep-o-meter in their recaps. Love.

Sean, I missed the Ice Road Truckers on Sunday, but I caught it tonight. Those guys have got to have fricking nerves of titanium to do that. Everytime I heard the ice cracking I wanted to tell them to get the fuck off the road.

I loved some of the accents. That kid hauling the oversize loads is so Fargo it's ridiculous.

His wife and kid were beautiful with their pretty, oversized almond eyes.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm watching Ice Road Truckers now. The stuff at the beginning about how they make the road was really interesting.
