Natter 52: Playing with a full deck?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
But in order to make that be so, I need someone to watch Noah, because while I love Noah, I'm sure the Burke-Williams folks will frown upon his presence.
Boils down instead to me continuing to futz around the house looking bedraggled.
Random: My Dyson stopped working! I was vacuming the front room and WHAM no power. I unplugged it and put it in another socket and it still didn't work. Vacum panic is not pretty.
I just feel like getting caught is really dumb, so I have little respect for them, whether or not the practice is widespread. I've been told emphatically that it is, in all medium to high profile sports that can benefit from it.
I support grooming the brow! I'll be riding this one for a couple months.
Allyson, when are you getting to ComiCon? Will you be selling books there? Fans want to know...
Wow, I wonder what it says about me that I feel sorry for Vino. I
Actually, I do too -- and I say that thinking it was incredibly stupid to do it. There's so much pressure and insanity and fishbowl atmosphere; so many people are doing it that it seems both necessary to win and like something that's more normal than it really should be... the act is dumb, but the situation as a whole is pretty much tragic.
Not surprising to me, but.... OK! Goes for It!
In a surprising move, OK! Magazine says they're going to show Britney as she really was on the day of her disastrous photo shoot -- the good, the bad and the unbelievably ugly!
In an exclusive statement to TMZ, OK! Editor-in-Chief Sarah Ivens said, "OK! Magazine spent a heartbreaking day with Britney Spears and witnessed first-hand an emotional cry for help that will leave you shocked and sad. This week, on newsstands Friday, the truth will be told."
I want to go to ComicCon, but I cannot.
I'm scared of having my eyebrows done. Last time I looked like Joan Crawford.
The question makes me think about it - I used to feel like an imposter, but I don't anymore. Not sure why. Oh, wait - I do, but not about my job. I feel like I'm faking being a smart well-educated person.
I just feel like getting caught is really dumb
The perfect example of this is Floyd Landis who knew, if he won, he'd get tested. IIRC, he has tested clean earlier in the race, but on the day he won, tested positive for something that didn't work so immediately. (maybe testosterone?)
eta: I'm curious what ya'll think of Lance...so much better than anyone and never tested positive for anything. Naturally gifted or just smarter than the rest? Personally, I wanted to believe he was clean, but it's a little hard to do.
All yours, amych.
Cycling, especially European cycling, is absolutely rife with doping. I think they, even more than baseball, are getting to a point where they're going to have to figure out something more creative than Just Say No as a response. Personally, I think they actually need to ease up on a lot of their restrictions, like with blood doping. Otherwise it's going to destoy the sport.
But as someone with a shot at winning stages, you've got to be a dumbass to keep it up - you
know
you're going to be tested.
I'd be surprised if Lance was entirely clean, but not at all suprised if he was a shitload more careful than a lot of these guys.
I drove past this crash yesterday. Had no idea who it was--they had to cut the roof off his car to get him out.
KO thinks Lance isn't clean at all. I forget what he said, but it was very snarky and skeptical(that is rather his default, however)
