I know I've read this article about what happens when good online communities go bad. In fact, I bet I followed a link from here.
You know it's funny, but what we have in place seems fairly effective to fend off trolls. But it requires a community buy-in that wouldn't work everywhere.
I'm partial to Noah in the boppy.
Me, too. Like a little throne.
Was Doctorow the one that wrote the article about how online communities evolve? That came up this weekend and I would love to re-read.
ETA: Clay Shirky.
Kat that photo of you and Noah is so beautiful. I love it.
And I'm sorry that Grace's situation has gotten so hard. It's so unfair.
"Mom, where's the archive of my baby blog? What do you mean I didn't have a baby blog? All my friends had baby blogs!"
That'll be my kids. And what will I say to them? "Mommy loves you, she's just very lazy. And, well, you were both very very busy!"
I'm still wanting to rip the spine out of the crazyperson who claimed she once confronted me about what a big fat liar I am and I backed down. Because I was afeared of her, or something.
ahhh ha ha ha.
Um, right.
What's the weather like on her planet?
Influenced by all the donkeys flying, no doubt.
I just skipped ahead about 1300 posts to tell all you Wednesday childrens that my dentist's office had it, "Wednesday's child is in the know."
The cute skunk was back in my yard last night at twilight and trundling around totally unconcerned that there were humans looking at him from just yards away. He's smaller, so I think he may be a young one who hasn't had many Bad Experiences yet....
I am up and posting because I just finished an all-nighter at work and I have an appointment to put a crown on my root canal in an hour and a half. I've come home to pick up Hubby for driving duties, but since I don't know how coherent he'll be on waking up, I'm not going to sleep yet. I figure I'll be too damned hazardous in a couple of hours. Boy I'm looking forward to the sleep yet to come.
