Painting - originally estimated to sell between 300-500 pounds sells for over 200K lbs because: it's a Titan - or believed to be one.
Oh yeah, I read about that. It's probably worth a whole lot more.
Apparently two people in the auction knew what it was, and one of them had a budget of 200k....
I've been loving being back in the land of fireflies.
Did I not link?
I meant to!
And now lot 403: the Old Master worth £5m. Do I hear £300?
That's the actual headline from the Guardian.
Ugh Connie. We see that in Florida all the time too. Signs all over that we are in a serious drought and burned out sections lining the highways, and people driving I-95 flicking cigarettes out the window.
Scola, would you spoil me? I've been desultorily keeping up with that show, but missed last night.
Aimee, if you're still looking for Ron/Hermione stories, I like Midnight Confessions by Alloy at the Checkmated website (which started out as a Ron/Hermione fanfic site). It;s another longer story (21 chapters), and veers wildly out of what JKR will end up doing in Deathly Hallows, I'm sure, but it's nicely Weasley-centric and even has an adult-rated separate chapter.
Scola, would you spoil me?
They tried to wrap things up, and a gazillion things happened.
Why stumped?
It's just not an area of the fandom I'm that familiar with. I know of some stories with Ron/Hermione in them, but it's generally in the background. (I'm really good with slash pairings, though.)
Details, man!
Actually I just want to know whether the lovely black FBI agent turns out to be the hero of the story. I would even be marginally happy if she got the boy.
I've thought of a new slogan for Utah: "We'd be Texas if only we drank more beer."
