I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

So, my parents just got back from their local independent bookstore, and The Book was sold out! (Theo, was that all you?) They re-ordered.

Which store? I have been trying to be patient with another local scifi type store in Cambridge where I ordered a copy and recommended they have it on the shelves (guys solution: order two copies) and their customer service, is, how you say, not so great. The dude said last week that he'd have it by the end of last week, now it's the end of this week, and I suspect that it will be actually the August release date or something and I want to dispatch Tom to a B&N but then I'll need to buy the Local Independant Bookstore copy and I think I'm really, really going to need some good reading this weekend, since I'll be at the beach and it looks like the weather will be totally shitty.

In conclusion, WANT. WANT NOW.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

This was at Porter Square Books. I guess they had had three copies to start.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I just walked four blocks in the rain, with an umbrella, and I'm freaking SOAKED.

Rain = yuck. When I was in Portland on Sunday and it was POURING, we had to sit in the car for like 15 minutes to wait out a downpour.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Bah. There was a bad plane crash in Brazil - at least 189 are dead. A jet skidded off the end of a wet runway and burst into flames. Many people have been concerned about this runway, as it is very short. In fact, it was closed a while back for safety reasons (due to it being too short) but a higher court overturned this, based on the economic hardship this closing resulted in.

Well, it could turn out to be more complex than that, but still....

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think they said they had two planes skid off the runway just last week. (Rain again.)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

paperdol, I can't do anything about medical care, but in the interim you can relieve pain a little. Try gargling with warm salt water, drinking hot tea with lemon and honey, spraying your throat with Chloraseptic. For your ear, try using a heating pad (or something warm) on it. It won't cure anything, but you might be less uncomfortable.

And the rugby players - has Vortex seen them? she'll appreciate it. I certainly did!

Did anyone post about the rugby player who was having these eye infections and headaches? Turned out he had the tooth of another player embedded in his skull.
