Happy Birthday, Dana!
Happy Birthday to both Dana and Ellie.
Stephanie, that's such a great picture, but I can't resist the one where she is behind the steering wheel.
Happy birthday, Dana! Happy birthday, Ellie!
Did anyone else watch "The Next Food Network Star"? It was supposed to repeat at 11 pm central so I turned it on and it appears to have started earlier than that -- is that right? When did the first run end?
Sumi, it ran from 9-11 eastern, so I guess 8-10 central.
How is it that I woke up a half hour early but am not ready to go any earlier than usual? Weird.
My personal saddest list would have "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye" and "Strange Fruit" (although I've never heard it all the way through) and a touch more music from my own childhood, which is to say reggae.
I think that list is way off in leaving out "Strange Fruit" and "Ode to Billy Joe," although choices 2 to 5 meet my approval. The bottom 10 or 15 should be replaced by country music, which distills sadness and loss much better than the grunge pop the list's compilers seem to mainly listen to.
And I think "Gloomy Sunday" should definitely get the #1 spot rather than second place. How many suicides does a song have to inspire to get a little respect?
Not-working expands to fill the time available. At least in my job-free state it does.
I made the executive decision that since he didn't get into bed until after 2, mac is staying home from school and sleeping his fill. It was a scheduled half day anyway (I had forgotten that), so it hardly seems worth it for 2 hours of class and lunch.
the tired boy + the rain = I am working from home.
That sounds like a good parental decision to me.
I am currently faffing around, adding more books to LibraryThing and getting my BookMooch sends put in their envelopes. In the meantime, the rain falleth and falleth.
So apparently today is one of those "Monday" things I've heard about....
Happy Birthday, Dana! (Ellie: See my post in Bitches.)
We babysat the niece and nephew on Saturday. I'm out sick today because my back went out. The two events are not related.
I used to have Mondays. I am perhaps unsurprisingly not nostalgic about them at this point. Perhaps when my severance runs out?
