The original Matilda's none too joyous either.
Other sad songs of mine--well, Prince can certainly sing up a good cry: Sometimes It Snows in April and others from Parade (Under The Cherry Moon, frex) qualify. Then there's 80s British Apoca-pop (Life In A Northern Town, Enola Gay--even when they weren't about the end of the world nuclear style, they still had similar melancholy).
Love the photos from Allyson's visit with the babes. So cute. They are becoming so much more alert! wow.

Yup. I listened to And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda on the bus back from Gallipoli. It's a phenomenal song.
Of course, the original Waltzing Matilda is about a sheep thief who'd rather drown himself than be taken into custody, so it's not exactly a mood lifter either.

Poking head to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is a double Buffista birthday: Dana and Ellie, Stephanie's daughter, both have a birthday today.
