What is even happening?

I am apparently in a constant state of saudade. How is that pronounced?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I barely ever order in anymore.

I guess if I ordered in more, I'd know what to order and from where, but as it is, I'm often disappointed. Ah well. Serves me right for not getting off my lazy ass and going to the store where I know the good stuff lives.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I like having people over for ordering in. Get to try more stuff and better evaluate the service.

Once every couple of weeks I just get myself a pizza. Normal weeks. Still in reduced consumption mode. I'm currently thinking of finishing the sandwich I doggy bagged from Wednesday dinner.

We'll see. More urgent task at hand is finding the right goddamned dragonfly for my tattoo. I think I've found the artist (a student at our Valley school). I'm just 75% done with the image, and have been this done for way too long.

I like to order a pizza, but I really don't need to eat that much pizza! Again, with the lazy ass -- there's a place around the corner that will sell me a slice.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It is said that all bossa nova songs have some saudade in them.

(Not all sambas though.)

Back from Burlingame and a rousing 19-4 win. Which takes the sting out of last night's 11-3 loss.

I took Matilda with me while JZ went thrifting with Buffistas. Matilda was well doted upon by all assembled, and JZ came back with a beautiful skirt (courtesy of Juliana's good graces). The only downside was a massive poopy diaper blowout, but that's why we always bring two extra outfits.

Back to Burlingame tomorrow. If we win we play again at 6pm. If we lose we're done. If we win both games we go to the finals on Monday.

Oh well, at least Burlingame is close. It's actually easier to get there than it is to take Emmett to school.

I think it's sort of like sow-DA-jee. Or, at least that's what I'd guess, a decade and a half after my last Portuguese class. Taught by a Brazilian, which no doubt makes a difference in pronunciation. Doesn't shrift speak Portuguese? (If not, I really wonder why I think that.)

OMG, they're about to show the famed "in the butt, Bob" Newlywed Game episode on GSN. Love it. They're doing this countdown of best game shows over a series of weeks, and all of a sudden we're in Chuck Berris territory -- starting at like #10, it went Gong Show, Dating Game, Newlywed Game. Good times.

It's possible I'm overdosing on game shows, as I'm noticing how often questions repeat across shows.

I believe shrift does speak Portugese, because she lived in Portugal for a while. I'd forgotten that until you said it! NOw I"m jealous again.
