Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

One early European observer referred to it as "a kangaroo masquerading as a wolf" and decribed it as having the head and teeth of a wolf, the stripes of a tiger, the tail of a kangaroo and the backward-opening pouch of an opossum.
No wonder billytea is billytea. How fascinating is that?
That's ... really damn cool.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

sumi, how do you like Jericho? I'm pretty sure this is at least the second one of those I've recorded, but I don't think I made it through the first one. I'll try this one again.

Which Foyle's is Tennant in? What accent does he use? I still haven't seen him use his normal one in anything other than Dr. Who Confidential.

Okay, off to bed. I think I can sleep now. Hopefully. Early start tomorrow mornind, and non-negotiable.

That's ... really damn cool.

Doesn't evolution rock?

ita, were you aware that Newsarama did an article on Martha Washington yesterday? FYI.

Dude. Thanks. Out of the comics loop these days, but will go look.

Art Crawl!!!

I didn't see the episode with Tennant - so have no accent intel. It was an early one. (But given that there are only 17. . . )

I'd completely forgotten that there was this other show called Jericho. But I enjoyed the first series and also enjoyed this one. (I think I did an almost 100% Brit tv evening - with the two mysteries and MI-5.)

Okay, re-checked IMDB - Tennant's in season 1, episode 3 "A Lesson in Murder."

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've got two air conditioners and a fan on, in a 500 square foot apartment, and it's still close to 80 degrees. This is not right.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Is there anywhere other than the standard travel places (Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz,...) that one should look for nifty cruises (optimally including Brazil) at the very start of a search?

ita, I don't know if they would be your parents' cup of tea, but Windjammer Barefoot Cruises have always looked like great fun to me.

In other news, took Mom and Dad out to a steakhouse for rain-delayed Father's Day dinner tonight. Apparently it was Gimp Night, as there were three other wheelchairs and a guy on crutches on the main dining room, and we had to park the van in a regular parking spot. Mom's salad was probably 3 pounds of food, and allegedly had lettuce under the bands of cheese, bacon, egg, and croutons that completely covered the platter. I liked my tilapia, but there's essentially no ceiling to how salty a dish can be and still have me eat it—I suspect most other people would have spat out the first bite.

Also, I found out after the fact that a guy I just hooked up with is a Latin American television personality and singer. Trippy.
