When other medical professionals have devised a treatment plan that's meant to be carried out by another doctor (meaning, the neurologist and migraine specialist came up with the plan intending for an ER doctor to carry it out), and the doctor ignores that treatment plan, I would call that negligent
But the question is what can the clinic do-- doctors should have the right to make an independent diagnosis, and I would wonder how much Monday-morning quarterbacking the clinic is permitted when there's no clear evidence of mistake. I wouldn't call failing to follow a specialist's recommendation clear mistake, especially when a reason is given. That's why I think it's important to point to the circumstances other than just simply making a different diagnosis.
I'd use something that won't have to be replaced in a year or so, Stephanie. Something more stable over time.

Yeah - the flag is good. Or the Statue of Liberty.
Good reasoning. I just don't want his picture on there, but I couldn't decide if new citizens would feel differently
ita, I am incredibly sorry about what happened. I think a letter is a good plan. Might I also recommend cc:ing your insurance and a medical group, if you see one?
My doctor issue today had me snap at a resident surgeon (No. I won't give you consent to do a biopsy until I actually speak to the attending neonatalogist who has not spoken to me once since Grace arrived at the hospital 3 days ago) and at the attending (A breathing machine? Really? She's on a pressurized ventilator currently, as opposed to receiving extracoporeal membraneous oxygen or being on a high pressure oscillating vent. I don't need to be talked down to as I have been on this ride with both of my children for the past 12 weeks).
My good mood is evaporating. Someone want to write a letter for me too?
Wow- I had all white font for a second there! I thought maybe ita's letter got REALLY angry!
Grammar question: Is it now considered proper to alphabetize items including the article? I keep seeing websites with every tv show, for example, beginning with a "The" in the "T" section. It is so ingrained in me that I look in the wrong place every time! What about Mc and Mac (which I was taught when before M)?

I think of it as a filing question. Mc before M, but we have Macs in with them. The "the" question is a little different, but most places I have had to file stuff articles are behind the rest of the title like Title, The.
ETA: I mean Macs in with the general Ms. Mc gets its whole section in front of them.
Oh! Another thought.
ita, in your letter, is there something you want done immediately? So it goes from discontent and why to what I will do differently and what I think should be done in the mean time.
Please, for the love of all that is holy, do not index Mc or Mac differently than other M words where someone who is not familiar with your indexing system has to find it-- it is not standard.
I would guess if "The" is being filed with the other T titles, it is because the alphabetizing is automated.
Oh, blarg Kat. (not to your advice!)
Why do they have to make this so hard, huh?
OK, if I'm shaky after making a damned phone call to the dentist, I can just imagine how neurotic I'm going to be going in.
Why am I such a wuss?
