I am hungry now though because my body got used to lots of Mexican + festival food (most delicious pit beef, kettle corn) over this past weekend.

Did you see they had crawdads? I don't think I've noticed them before. It was a little alarming at first! At one point when I walked by, the guy was educating/terrorizing a gaggle of kids with a live one. I was relieved he refrained from throwing that particular one into the pot then and there...

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The internet has a David Tennant paper doll you can dress up.

I love the internet.

Compassionately intolerant

GC, oh noes! I got a "403-forbidden" error.

Is it 'slickdealsdotcom' cuz that doesn't seem to go anywhere. Frustration!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

One of my favorite food trends of the past couple years is the tendency among NYC restaurants (at least -- it may be happening everywhere for all I know) to include some kind of raw tuna + avocado appetizer on their menus, completely irregardless of what the restaurant's particular cuisine focus is supposed to be. It's eye-rolling to the extreme how often it shows up, but as far as fad ingredients go, this is a pairing I'm very much in favor of.

Punishingly Intricate

A tuna and avocado roll . . .mmmmm

that is my favorite!

Did you see they had crawdads? I don't think I've noticed them before.

I think Mick the Pirate was doing them? I heard they were there but didn't actually see them. My New Orleans native friend had some but said they were okay but not great, mostly because they weren't from home.

I saw the festival from inside the store Saturday except for on my 1/2 hour break when i rushed to the other end and ducked into the new 9th Life location to find pink accessories to wear at our show Sat. night and instead found the PERFECT pink sparkly dress. It was shopping magic.

I did also see Dominic West when I was on break. He was hanging around outside Atomic. But he's out and about in the neighborhood all the time these days. Or hanging out by the pool down where he's staying while they are filming.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It doesn't have to be raw or fish.

Hey! That's my line!

I like avocado in sushi and feel cream cheese in sushi has its place. But I'm totally not a traditionalist on the form, and welcome the new variations wholeheartedly.
