I'm DVRing the Tonys. Only because I'm hoping for an appearance by Terrence Mann. I think his wife is nominated for something. I'll switch over to watching once Saw is off. Or when I get bored. There are a lot of commercials.

I only watched the opening, and was able to see the guy I went to high school with announce all the presenters!
(Michael Berresse plays Zach in A Chorus Line, and he did the entire opening narration in character.)

My first summer of summer theatre we only had 5 tapes in the scene shop, and we played them over and over! One was the cast album from A Chorus Line! To this day I think I could sing it all by heart - if I could sing, that is.

Viva Laughlin looks like it could be an interesting series. These are the first commercials I have seen for it. It has Hugh Jackman and Principal McHottie.

In the meantime, I saw a fantastic pilot tonight for a new AMC show called Mad Men. It's about ad executives in New York in the 1950's, and the cast is full of people who will make you go "Oh, it's that guy/girl!" even if you can't remember their name or where you've seen them before. Vincent Kartheiser is in it, deliciously playing a smarmy little shit who thinks he's a rising star. Kristen Schaal plays one of the switchroom girls -- no clue how big her role will be, but it's awesome to see her getting such high-profile projects.
It's a gorgeously shot show, very striking and cinematic, and the writing is just stellar. They do a really good job of addressing 1950's gender and racial politics while not explicitly being a show about either. Things just are how they are, and people react to them. It premieres sometime in July - I'm really looking forward to it.
Jessica, I read something about that show in TV Guide, and I thought it looked interesting. I may even forgive AMC for cancelling Remember Wenn all those years ago and watch it.
