Kat -- Hmm. I see what you're saying, I just wonder if it'll translate -- there really are only 5 projects to talk about, since each one took a few years. (Which I wasn't clear about before, on reread.) So I'd wind up mentioning the same 3 or 4 things over and over for most of my skills.
I am going to break out actual technical skills and stuff that's more quantifiable. But a lot of it is the "I can translate programmer-speak to management-speak to statistician-speak" kind of skill.I can think of some particular areas where your scheme would work better, though. Hm hm hm. I'll do another draft arranged that way, and see if it snaps into place or makes a mess. Thanks for the tip! And thanks to Jesse & Cindy & -t, too!
Man, just the idea of maybe getting this and being able to quit my current job is making me giddy.
I got a job posting today that seemed like possibly my dream job, but I really feel commited to my current job for another year. Or as long as I can hold out! I literally just told my boss yesterday that I'm not going anywhere any time soon. Oy.
And yeah, I'll get the 8pm TDS/Colbert, so I was glad for the reminder!
Oh, and I also think that if your experience is pretty straightforward and in a straight line, a functional resume can be more confusing than it's worth. If someone has done a bunch of different things (either simultaneously or not), organizing it by skill makes more sense. I would guess that Kat wants to highlight things beyond classroom experience (so not focusing on X School for these dates), but my job experience is really just this job, then that better similar job, then the next similar job with more responsibility, etc., so that's the line I want to draw for people.
It's 91 degrees out. Winds are gusting to 45 mph. Tonight there's a possibility of severe thunderstorms, large hail and 90 mph winds.
Yep, that's a classic tornado recipe.
Top Chef: What is on Ilan's face? What is on the side of his head?
I know!
Season 2 folks came back with the nuttiest hair. Actually, Ilan's hair ups the nutty quotient so much that the season 1 people could have done almost anything to their hair and season 2's hair would still be nuttier. I discussed Ilan's hair with a friend. It's a cityscape.
There are some sideviews where you can tell what it is. . . but not
where
it is, you know?
I think it's the Brooklyn Bridge on one side and skyscrapers on the other. My coworker said when she saw him on the street a while ago, he just had "regular" lines cut in. What a tool. He's totally the kind of guy I would have gone for in my youth.
mac - I do not like this lotion. It is little bit like Stinky Cheese Man.
