Yes. Men like sports. Men watch the action movie, they eat of the beef, and enjoy to look at the bosoms. A thousand years of avenging our wrongs and that's all you've learned?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Having a plan = very good.

ION, I just burned myself on a roasting pan containing a Thanksgiving turkey breast in June. I hope Cook's Illustrated is pleased with itself. (Unfortunately, I think the roasting pan I'm using is way too big for this recipe -- it's sized for an entire turkey, not just a breast. But it's also the only one I have with a V-rack, so it's not like I had a choice.)

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I hope it's not a bad burn, Jess.

Yay for Condo ownership!

Trust my rage

Vortex, does that mean you got the/a new job? Sorry if I missed it earlier - I skim pretty seriously in this thread.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey, it's a plan. But damn, I don't know whether to wish an ER visit sooner or later.

That.

So, when I opened my mailbox just now, a little box came flying out. Huh? I didn't order anything... But then I saw the return address was "Direct Mail Chocolates," and I remembered! Yesterday was my 1yr anniversary at work, and they send chocolates! I think that's a really nice thing -- no big whoop, but a little pleasant surprise.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

So, when I opened my mailbox just now, a little box came flying out.

I blame my mental picture of this on the fact that I've been re-reading Harry Potter books.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. For desecrating a flag. So the far far rightwing kooks think flag desecration should be OK. Huh.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I like that you have a plan, ita. Is the specific hospital the one with the pleasant ER?

Speaking of hospitals... we are STILL waiting for a bed to open up at Children's for Grace. In the meantime, I bought several onesies that are snap-up fronts (easiest to put on kidlets with tubs, probes, etc) at the consignment store. And a pair of shoes that are a year to big for either kid but have CUPCAKES on them.

I still have yet to buy a changing table or crib.

In nonbaby news... um.... yeah. I got nothing. I've become that boring parent how has nothing going on except kids, huh?

Heh.

Well, your kids have more going on than most, so I think you get dispensation.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I went to go see The Drowsy Chaperone today, which was a ton of fun -- very cute take on old-fashioned musical comedy. Also, John Glover was playing the main character -- an old-ish man sitting alone in his apartment, listening to records of old musicals and talking about how fabulous the old times were, and how shows now just aren't the same -- which was messing with my brain a little.
